I have been a bit worried as i had one of those customer compliance letters saying they needed to visit me but the man had not turned up by the time i had to leave for the school despite the fact that i rang his office (twice!!) to tell him i had to do the school run!

The £250 is before tax, and he is currently paying large sums off every month on an old credit card he no longer uses which is why we haven't moved in together yet as the DWP don't take these things into account!
The DWP may have been informed and are checking out your circumstances. As Mealone as pointed out if your are insured on your partner's car the DWP can trace this information and you would be considered as a couple as it sounds like you share your finances.

well you know what i mean, a non specific ASD as opposed to Aspergers which they intially thought my Sophie had as at the age of 2 she would count to 14 but not talk to anyone!

I think you have a big problem because they would most definitely consider you as a couple. You may be made to pay back all the benefits and possibly prosecuted if they did find out.

I'm struggling to understand how the OP and partner could be deemed as partners when they currently live apart?
