Sorry to ask for a bit more research info - do any of the companies mentioned (or indeed orange for that matter) allow tariff downgrades after 6 months without losing cashback entitlement?I think....0

You can downgrade after 6 months with orange, but whether or not you lose your cashback is down to the company who you took out the phone with, it should be in their t & c's.0

My personal view on this is that, unless the retailer specifically costs their offer on the basis of a customer downgrade after 6 months (as Talkworld used to do) I would NEVER recommend taking the chance with the cashback. If you cost the deal on the basis of the tariff selected and you like the price that you arrive at then why not just stick with it?
Of course, once you have all the cashback its usually safe to downgrade if the network will allow it.
On the issue of what the network will allow, there are now new rules in force with orange regarding downgrades (as of 01 April). In their own words:
"You will not be able to switch to a lower Service Plan for the first 6 months of this contract. After the first 6 months, you may switch to the next lowest value Service Plan a maximum of one time per month for the remainder of the contract term. You are able to switch to an equivalent or higher Service Plan at any time."
What this means is that if, for instance, you start with a £45 tariff you could only go to a £40 tariff in month 7, a £35 tariff in month 8, a £30 tariff in month 9 etc...
However, you wouldn't be able to go straight to a £30 tariff in month 9 if you hadn't already made the previous two downgrade steps in months 7 & 8.

Who would you say is the best giving cashbacks thus being most reliable out of the above companies?
Unfortunately, I don't like making pronouncements on the reliability of one company over another. Apart from the fact tha I haven't been a customer of any of them myself, it's a bit like recommending a tradesman who then does an awful job in your house and you're left feeling a little embarrassed, to say the least.
However, in the absence of having time to develop the necessary retailer rating system on my own site, I have started another thread on MSE recently where I'm trying to guage the collective experiences of the MSE members. I've started with the most talked about retailer on this board (OSPS). If it proves to be a useful poll (it's still too early to pass any judgement) it could also be applied to all other cashback retailers.
The thread can be found HERE.
However, it would be a little late to start new threads on each of the abovementioned retailers as, by the time they had collected sufficient responses, these deals will have finished.
Sorry I couldn't be more helpful here...but I hope you understand why.
regards,

I would strongly discourage buying into an Orange contract, no matter how good the deal. I'm just appaled as to how poor they are compared to the likes of O2 in terms of customer service and signal availability.0
-
It's got to be each to their own, everyone you speak to has had bad dealings with all the companies out there.
As for signals, doesn't that come into play where u live? O2, T mobile and virgin no signal where i live but Orange is full.0 -
yeah, Orange has best signal round here too
Network coverage depends on your location0
