Hi everyone. I've been offline for a few weeks so got some catching up to do, will read back a few pages....... When does everyone's trips start?

Claire - enjoyed reading your trip report. Must get to Bouchon for your next trip. We had a fab brekkie here last trip :) Didn't know about the money off when you buy from the stand downstairs - will remember that for next time.....

After the revelation that Four Seasons charge for for car parking I emailed the hotel and said that if this was the case after me spending $1200+ to stay in their hotel then I would cancel my booking and give my business to Wynn (bit of a bluff because I had to pay in full in advance for the room) Got an email back saying that they would waive the fee and would like to upgrade my room FOC as gesture of goodwill to "our valued U.K. visitors". Very nice chap I thought!!

    Hi All.

I'm looking for a bit of advice. Going on my honeymoon to vegas for a week in May 2010. Got flights sorted and booked a room at the mirage, did this through the mirage website so that I can cancel if I want to.

I have noticed that the price of hotels seems to change quite alot. For example the bellagio suites for April 2010 (May 2010 prices not up yet) are roughly the same price every night of the month, but in the coming months, November for example, the suite prices seem to have droppped and vary (e.g. Saturday night cost more than a Monday). Is this common? Is there a chance in say February next year I'll be able to get a better deal somewhere than I could now?

As an aside, any adive on the best way to call the usa while avoiding big bills? (In case I want to cancel a booking) I've seen companies where you dial an 0845 or 0870 number in the UK and then they connect you to the US for the price of an 0845 / 0870 call. Anyone got any experience of such a service?

Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

I've read back 230 posts. Lots of new faces too, which is great!

Now, I thought maybe I could talk OH into a wee trip in Sept as we have 2 weeks booked off work and now I know that there's a fight and the Killers over the weekend we'd be looking at. :rolleyes2.
It's been almost 9 months since the last trip so I'm panging to go again - (though we're going again in April )

We could always move everything back a week, but struggling to find flights at decent rates. We can go from London or Glasgow, Glasgow preferred. Best I can find is US Airways @ £446pp on 22nd for 7 nights, and was hoping for better. Had a look at packages on Expedia - is anyone going with these? I like the fun of searching and changing my mind on hotels, so might feel I'd lost out if I went with a package from them... what do you think? Trying to stay under or around 1k for flights and hotel....... any thoughts?

Guess who put £2000 on FairFX when it was at 1.45 and expected to drop :rotfl::o:o
And then when it rose to the dizzy hights of 1.53 they went and put on another £2000.
Holding on to the rest until a bit closer unless it starts to drop, but I want the rest in actual $$

Hi and welcome to the forum.

I went in May last year and started getting good deals on the hotels from January onwards, I think I rebooked the same room three times before the prices started to go up.

You've got a booking already so hold onto that till the deals start coming out but keep coming back here as the friendly posters here are always posting some really good deals.

As I mentioned earlier our "last" day in Vegas has now extended to not leaving til 11pm so as we're at the Flamingo the night before I decided to book a night at the Imperial Palace as it's so close for the day we fly home so we'll have a room right up until we leave for the airport (think shower-it's likely to be high 90s) instead a ditching our bags with the bellhops at noon.
IP was showing at $20 on Harrah's hot deals with and without Total Rewards and a few cents lower on some of the 3rd party sites. I wasn't able to book on-line -system seems to see my check out day at the Flamingo as a clash of dates  so I rang the IP to book (for free of course on my free US calls Sky phone package). No need to haggle they offered me the room for $15 !
To me that's an absolute bargain to have a room on the Strip right up to departure-and a chance to try out the IP too (I'll probably not actually check out when we leave just in case we get a bump in which case we can go back to the room) even though it's pretty unlikely

I *could* have got comped at either the Gold Coast or the Riviera but this seems the better deal just to haul the (small) cases from the Flamingo to the IP on foot rather than pay cabfare to either of those.

I sort of suggested one way in my last post. I have my calls package with Sky (you can do this with either a BT line or a Sky line) and on their unlimited package which is £10 a month you get overseas calls for free up to an hour per call for a long list of countries including the US. I find it fantastic when I'm playing the hotel reprice/change game.
