Correction to the resort fee that trets mentioned for the Signature, it's now $20 per night and not $15.

Re Crown, I have used them several times and ordered 4-5 months in advance. No problem with them at all. You can pay by cheque or bank transfer, I've used both methods, but never seen a card option.

I haven't used them for my next trip as I haven't seen a high enough rate to make it worthwhile.

Not sure where you are seeing the $1.60 rate, but I will be using a Nationwide FlexAccount card to withdraw over there and will get the Interbank rate which is currently around $1.645 so Crown's $1.66 isn't attractive to me.

    Thanks,

$1.60 is showing on Travelex & Thomas Cook sites just now so I'd expect my local Cheque Centre to be at least the same or even a little more than this as I always find them good value.

I was thinking of holding off but knowing my luck it will take a sharp dip!

    SHOWS

We'll be in Vegas from 16/9 - 23/9 & are going to see The Killers on 19th. I'm looking at some others likes of Carrot Top & Le Reve.

Carrot Top - available at 20% off through the Luxor site - tickets are $60(row L back) + $70 (rows A-J). Can someone who's seen him there tell me if there's much difference in the views as it seems small from the plan I seen. Also, am I likely to get them cheaper when I go?

Le Reve - $25 discount available via Travelzoo promo when you phone. So tickets would be $100 + fees - again am I likely to get these cheaper there? Also, is the VIP Indulgence Package worth the $179?

    Thanks again!!

Carrot Top is in a relatively small theatre, I don't think where you sit makes much of a difference - closer will be slightly better but not dramatically so. He's normally available at Tix4Tonight for 1/2 price but from what we were told their tickets for his show normally sell out fairly early in the day - so go early. And in case you haven't used them before, if you use Tix4Tonight they sell you a voucher to exchange for tickets at the box office - we were told the earlier you get to the box office to exchange the voucher the better seats you will get.

When we saw Le Reve they had a $50 per ticket offer available...so better offers have existed but no way to know if they will in the future.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

The Carrot Top theatre only has 13 rows so a decent view anywhere.

We got tickets at T4T for $39 instead of $72 and got Row H which were good seats. Better to get them there, but go early in the day as he sells out.

Thanks to you both for you replies on the shows.

I remeber my 1st visit in Mar 2008 - got 2 x front row Mamma Mia tickets online a few weeks before we travelled - a week later 1/2 price promo was emailed to me.

I used them T4T before for Defending the Caveman but that's all - I prebooked deals previously for Love, Cher & haggled discount at MGM for Ka.

Don;t want to book to many show & be tied down though & I just remembered The Lion King too - no chance of discounts on that for a while I wouldnt think.

I'll just hang off a bit.

    Cheers

Thank you for all the suggestions so far! :T

Just for a bit of background... My H2B took me to Vegas for the first time in June last year, it was totally amazing and I loved every second of it! We did rather a lot of exploring and only went to see the Hawiian Luau at IP as we sort of ran out of time just seeing bits of hotels. I'm absolutely certain we didn't see half of the stuff we wanted to!

We have booked to stay at the Wynn for the last 3 nights of the honeymoon, and have yet to sort anything for the first 5 nights...

I really would like to do something special as he is totally amazing and I really couldn't imagine being without him....really slushy I know!!!:o

Any further suggestions would be fab, and if you need anymore info...just let me know!

    Thanks everyone

I didn't see Le Reve at the discount ticket booths either day we were there (popped in for a nosy at the one beside the Peppermill when we were heading out in the car) but you may be lucky on a different day. In the end we just got tickets from the box office, if you're staying at the hotel and quote "ROOMUP" you get the $125 tickets for $99 so its basically the same offer as Travelzoo. The theatre was pretty full when we were there, so the shows are still obviously managing to pull people in. I posted earlier that i wished i had gone for the champagne circle seats, they looked great and i would have loved to have seen what was going on underwater. But as they were almost double what we paid (and OH wouldn't watch the screen as he finds things like that too distracting:rolleyes:) i decided it wasn't worth it for us.

Le Reve was amazing btw, beautiful show and probably the best i've seen in Vegas along with Jersey Boys.

    Claire,

Thanks for your reply - you have a good time?

Jersey boys - there's another 1 - ahhh decisions decisions. Plenty of options for us still & whatever we don't cover will get done next time.

I even tried to haggle cheaper Le Reve tickets last year - they had none of it though :o

We intend to chill out more this time, take things in more. We spent most days shopping/hotel visiting & nights at shows - so this time some time by the pool is a musy although personally I probably won't feel comfy around the perfect amercan bodies!!

We also need to catch the Fremont Steet Exp properly - never seen anything in full yet.

Ah i had a fantastic time, quite relaxed though which is what we planned and needed tbh I think you're staying at Venetian aren't you? Loved the room there and the pool was great- every shape and size there so never worry. Apart from Friday morning it was very quiet around the pools and easy to find a nice spot without too many people around.

I can't rave enough about JB, i loved the show. They play the Phantom music constantly in the Venetian elevators and one time they played JB and i started dancing and singing along:o Thankfully there was just the two of us in there at the time:rotfl:I'd love to see that show again, but need to work my way through the ones i haven't seen yet.
