I'd seen that beating the touts was really important to Garth - I suppose it makes sense that his shows don't show up anywhere since all that have been announced sold out very quickly. Just that I've seen sold out shows on the listings before so it had me a bit puzzled.
I'm jealous that you're going to see him and hope you'll let us know how the show is. We're not holding out much hope that he'll be playing during our next trip as it's over Easter and he's big on being with his family, so suspect that Easter will be out. But one day I hope we'll be able to see him.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
October , NovemberBack from Vegas had an amazing time, already planning next trip1, Las vegas advisor voucher book was excellent thanks again ferf1223,
Can anyone make use of it again before the end of Dec, happy to post still some good vouchers in there!0 -
October , NovemberDay 1 - Flew out with BA very impressed, keep an eye out for the buy 1 get 1 free vocuhers for Spice Market Buffet at PH manged to pick up a couple extra that people had just left behind!!!
Got to Planet Hollywood, tried the $20 trick was told they didn't take cash(?) but was happy to look into an upgrade, ended up with twin beds but a fountain view and the drinks on us promotion vouchers, which I booked before that offer at a better price so very pleased.
Room was lovely amazing bathroom, can see what people have said about lighting at PH as no main light in room just lots of lamps but didn't find it a problem.
Headed out for a walk to keep awake, ended up wandering around till midnight with just a quick stop at Fatburger for some much needed food0 -
October , NovemberDay 2 - Had the two for one breakfast at Spice Market, needed to make up for the lack of food and certainly did! Crepe's where lovely loads of choice as well
Headed north up the strip in and out of hotels ended up going up the Stratosphere, amazing views was a really lovely and clear day.
Had dinner (didn't need lunch after the buffet!) in Lombardi's an Italian in Mircle Mile shops, very nice. Headed out for the strip took in the show's at TI, Mirage and a few at Bellagio, those fountains always amaze me!
Day 3 - Went to Cantina for a mexican breakfast very filling then headed out to Outlet center, for some serious shopping, well worth getting the voucher booklet some great savings in there, came back laided down but moutains for the money, seemed to be sales on sales eveywhere.
Evening was booked from the UK Ice Hockey at Orleans, headed down there early and took in the buffet considering it was off the strip and I wasn't sure what to expect, was really impressed with it, not the fine dining of some of the big strip hotels but really nice, more of a local feel to it, and a bargain at the price (thanks again Ferf1223!)
Hockey was excellent real entertainment from start to finish would highly recommend to anyone0 -
AugustI do like the Orleans buffet -especially for breakfast.$7 and better than some of the Strip buffets. I like that you get a mix of locals and tourists there.
The fact you can use the free shuttle from Bill's to get there from mid-strip is a huge plus too for those who don't have a car for the free and really close easy parking.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
December ( including Xmas and New Year )I'd seen that beating the touts was really important to Garth - I suppose it makes sense that his shows don't show up anywhere since all that have been announced sold out very quickly. my show ticket isnt till February, I will be there Easter too but havent seen any further dates released yet. Hopefully Wynn/Encore can come up with a better system for buying tickets. Steve Wynn initially said it was seats on a first come first served basis, but when you got onto the booking system you were held in a "virtual waiting room" and the sytem would retry every couple of minutes or so to get you in the queue, but its really pot luck, as in those couple of minutes waiting, someone else could just log in and get straight through if they were lucky. I had several windows open at once trying to get through.
Am just in the Virgin V room at the moment waiting my flight, the new Virgin Gatwick Clubhouse is scheduled to open next week. Just a quick trip this time for shopping, got Cher show tonight, shopping tomorrow, then flying back Saturday.
Also...just a note, if anyone has use of the Virgin Heathrow Clubhouse, they are stopping the facility to pre-book treatments/haircuts from 1st December, you just have to turn up on the day and hope for the best.0 -

October , NovemberDay 4 - After getting up at a very early time was picked up for Grand Canyon trip at 0530! But turned put to be well worth it, went with Star and Strips via Viator (http://www.viator.com/tours/Las-Vegas/Grand-Canyon-West-Rim-Air-and-Ground-Day-Trip-from-Las-Vegas-with-Skywalk/d684-3441IND_SKY)
Got up to Canyon after an excellent flight, and first group up there us and four other people from the plane they where doing the sky walk which we weren't so after a look around Eagle point we headed to Guano Point WOW we where the only people up there apart from two staff at the food joint, is really the way to do it felt at one with nature and no one spoiling it, would reccomend getting up early for this to anyone.
After returning to our room for as nap headed out for the evening Food was in Mircle Mile again this time at Blondies (voucher in Mircle mile shoping book) really nice sports bar and food was huge (and really mean huge!) and lovely, then the quick walk across the square for Sin City Comedy (smarter Vegas $25 offer) at V Theatre didn't really know what to expect but was very impressed with all three of the comic's and the Dancing was alright as well, but very much an add on to the comedy0
