    Thanks Stoneman! ;)
I know, I've heard bad reviews of CC, but the deal was too good to miss. Went through Pigsback and got Thurs and Friday night for less than £60, plus enough reward points to claim a £20 HMV voucher. We figured as DD would be too young for drinking and gambling on the first 2 nights of our stay, it would be handy enough. We can go Downtown and see the sights instead of hitting a bar!

Thanks Luci, I have no idea what maximum lines is :o, but I guess we'll figure all that out when we're there!

Look for machines like Goldfish which is a lot of fun to play and had lots of random bonuses. Play max lines plus the Fish Bonus. It's a popular machine so you may have to wait to get on. Just ask a cocktail waitress where certain machines are located as MGM is a huge casino.

Others I would recommend are Wizard of Oz and Hitchcock Theater.

I was only pulling your leg. My first time in Vegas we stayed at CC. Had our 2 young ones with us, son was 10 years old, he was 28 a couple of days ago!!! It is a good starting point on a budget, then you can get the feel of the other htels for your next visit. We found the rooms clean and big, probably better than anything you will get in this country unless you are staying 4 star.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I presume you're talking about the "luxury" rooms rather than the Go rooms. Always had great Go rooms at the Flamingo
Yes, I was talking about the ordinary rooms. the Go rooms are nice. The poster was I think intimating that their offer was for a luxury room

I can see the attraction of staying north with underage kids especially outside of US school holidays. Both the Sahara and CC have more to do than the midstrip hotels. I'm still bemused by the people you see battling the crowds mid-strip with babies or toddlers in tow.
One thing that rarely get mentioned is the creche at the Orleans-that to me seems like such a good idea. I think any Vegas hotel that set up something like Disney do with their evening kid's clubs in Orlando would make a mint. High quality child care and activities with dinner included whilst the parents go off for a grown up dinner and or to gamble.

If trying the $20 trick at CC, is there a certain type of room we should be looking for/looking to avoid?

We stayed at CC when we went to Vegas and let me tell you, it was fantastic. After reading the reviews and the comments from some people we expected nothing more than a dirty room with a bed - we got much more.

If you have managed to get a great bargain much like I did for CC, then you're more than likely in a Manor room at the moment. We checked in (was very late at night) and did the $20 tip trick. We were upgraded to a newly renovated room (it appeared new anyway), strip view (not amazing views anyway but still good). The room was modern, comfortable and stylish.

So yes, try the $20 tip trick and with abit of luck, you'll get what I got - and for a bargain price too! More money for actually holiday'ing! :D

It is...from everything I've ever read it's to be avoided at pretty much all costs.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
