Thanks to Ferf, Neil and stoneman for your suggestions.

We arrive on Saturday and the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight is on. We knew seats at the Grand arena would be pricey but they are doing this:

PACQUIAO VS COTTO: CLOSED CIRCUIT VIEWING - $55

Is this basically like watching a fight in a pub because I would imagine it being better going to a large screen elsewhere or are there legal reasons which prevent other hotels and bars from screening it

It looks like several of the MGM properties are doing this...

Sounds good to me. The Flamingo rooms will not be half as good as a Bungalow suite. In fact, we won't stay there again, most of the rooms are skanky.

I presume you're talking about the "luxury" rooms rather than the Go rooms. Always had great Go rooms at the Flamingo

Has anyone been to the sports book at Caesars Palace and if so when the NFL games are on during Sunday afternoons, can you just walk in or are there tickets etc. I can imagine it gets real busy??

I wonder if you are a GreenBay fan ??

A lot of the sportbooks would have reserved seats for gamblers. I found the Wynn good as it has a bar just beside it and is great for tracking ALL the matches. I will be checking out Lagasses Stadium at the Palazzo on my next visit.

I have never seen tickets sold just for regular games or anything like that - it does get busy, you may not be able to get a seat necessarily, but you can just walk in and see for yourself. Caesars sports book is pretty massive.

I'm off to Vegas for the first time next week - excited doesn't come close! :j:j:j

I am working my way through the threads, but have a few quick questions :o

We're staying 2 nights at Circus Circus, then switching to MGM on DD's 21st birthday. I'm assuming there'll be a few hours gap between check-out and check-in, does anyone know if we can store luggage at MGM before check-in? Or will we have to leave it at CC then go back for it in the afternoon?

If trying the $20 trick at CC, is there a certain type of room we should be looking for/looking to avoid? I've heard the $20 trick doesn't often work at MGM, but I'll give it a shot as it's DD's birthday when we check-in.

Where will we find the Tickets2Nite booth?

Can you see the Welcome sign from the taxi on route from the airport in a taxi? If not, is it worth asking the driver to go out of the way?

We're not big gamblers but will be playing slots - are there any casinos that really are a 'must-see'? And do all of the casinos have 1 cent slots?

    TIA x

We move hotels several times each trip. What I do is call the hotel I'm at and ask for a late check out. You can usually get 12 noon instead of 11am free of charge.

There is a possibility that a room may be ready at MGM when you get there about 12.15. If not, you can leave your bags with the bell desk which is near check in. You will be expected to tip at least $1 per bag on drop off and again when they are delivered to your room.

We've never stayed at CC, but I seem to recall that the Manor Tower rooms are to be avoided, but can't swear to that.

Tickets2Nite closed a couple of years ago. There are 2 discount companies on the strip, https://www.tix4tonight.com and VegasTix4Less.

There are photos of the current offers HERE but I think you may have to register on the site to view it.

The taxi may take the tunnel/freeway to get to CC which wouldn't pass the Welcome sign. If you want to see it on the way, just tell the driver. The fare may be more expensive if the strip is busy and traffic is slow.

All the casinos have 1c slots, some more than others. The MGM has a good selection. If you don't want to spend too much gambling I would suggest playing maximum lines, which could be 40, and minimum bet which is 1c on a penny machine. That means you would spend 40c per spin. Of course you could spend more than that if you want.

Thanks Luci, I have no idea what maximum lines is :o, but I guess we'll figure all that out when we're there!

Yes, one in another hotel ;)
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

You can play a number of lines from 1, which will cost you 1c per spin, up to whatever the maximum is for that machine. Just have a look at a few machines before sitting down.

The top line of buttons is the number of lines. You will see the maximum at the right hand side.

The bottom row of buttons is your stake per line, from 1 upwards.

Yes it will all become clear once you are there.
