Thanks to Ferf, Neil and stoneman for your suggestions.

We arrive on Saturday and the Pacquiao vs Cotto fight is on. We knew seats at the Grand arena would be pricey but they are doing this:

PACQUIAO VS COTTO: CLOSED CIRCUIT VIEWING - $55

Is this basically like watching a fight in a pub because I would imagine it being better going to a large screen elsewhere or are there legal reasons which prevent other hotels and bars from screening it

There are probably more financial reasons that legal ones to prevent anyone else showing the fight. It is usually on PPV especially if it's a sell out.

Im with Luci I think its probs to do with money than any legal reason, when we were there in Sept they had the Mayweather fight on at Blondies in Planet Hollywood... you needed to pay a fee to get in (sorry cant remember how much it said on the board) and they had it all tented off so people couldnt see in.

EDIT - They also do something at Mandalay Bay for $50 but I think this is what you might have been looking at already. http://www.mandalaybay.com/entertainment/eventcalendar.aspx

MGM Grand Bungalow Suite check in Friday 27th November and stay for 5 nights

Price £220 tax is included . Only snag is lastminute.com says the offer ends tonight

So what you reckon ? Could stay at the Flamingo same dates for £171

Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

Go there first thing in the morning and have a coffee on the balcony, they have comfy chairs and it is so calm. feed the little sparrows with some of your left over muffin. It is Tracys' favorite spot in the whole of Vegas, yes even more than Fashion Show Mall

This does sound very nice. I can't quite work out where the balcony is, though? It sounds like the perfect thing for our first morning next trip so any guidance would be appreciated. :)

Sorry but I meant the Veranda (been away and couldn't spell that till I got home and Tracy told me) Just by the coffee shop at the rear.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

Sounds good to me. The Flamingo rooms will not be half as good as a Bungalow suite. In fact, we won't stay there again, most of the rooms are skanky.

sorry you need to do your own leg work on finding flights . try all the US carriers and Virgin Atlantic and BA as well as BMI .also try the advice on the main site about screen scrapers and price compare sites.

anything around £400 is good these days .

    Good luck with it :A:beer:
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:
