October , Novemberother mid-priced dining options we like:
Sugar and Ice (Wynn)
Ellis Island (BBQ or steak special)
Toby Keith’s I Love This Bar (Harrahs)
Rainforest Caf! (MGM)
Paris Cafe (agree with Luci– we eat here sometimes several times in a trip)
Pyramid Cafe (Luxor)
Le Burger Brasserie (Paris)
We rarely do fast food or fine dining in Vegas...I'm still a bit perplexed as to how it's possible to miss the mid-range options when there are so many of them.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
JulyThanks Luci, we're going to explore some of the off strip casinos this trip so i'll pencil this in. I want to have a nosy at Red Rock, M resort, GC, Orleans and Southpoint. Is there anything in particular at any of these that peeps would recommend?:starmod:C'est la vie:starmod:0

The cafe at Red Rock is excellent - pretty much the same as the one at Green Valley Ranch (and probably the other Station casinos). We always say we're going to try the buffet but always end up in the cafe instead. The Gold Coast buffet (at least for breakfast) was great though we haven't been in a few years. There are 2-for-1 coupons for the Station and GC buffets in either or both the ACG and LVA books too. If you like mexican supposedly the fajitas at Don Miguels at Orleans are great (and massive, making the 2-for-1 coupon a bit silly
)

October , NovemberAnyone been to Envy Steakhouse in Renaissance hotel - apparently its off strip its within the Renaissance Hotel? Looking at vouchers on restaurant.com as they have 70% of and there is a $75 voucher for $30 with 70% off so $9.0

We went last October and it was outstanding - for 2 we would have struggled to meet the $150 minimum for the $75 voucher but there were 4 of us so it was fine. I would recommend going really easy on the flavoured salts they brought out to compliment the steaks - I only added a tiny bit and it was too salty for me. I would also be wary of ordering more than medium - I ordered medium well and was told it would take an extra 25 mins (which we were OK with)...but in the end it was a lot closer to well done than I expected and the rest of the table's mediums were far nicer. My MIL said it was the best steak she'd ever had.
The Renaissance is just across the street from the Convention Centre monorail stop - so handy if the normal driver in the group (which was me!) wants to have a drink with dinner.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Thanks Ferf just told my OH that you are one of the Gurus on this thread so if you say its outstanding it must be great!
OH thinks we might be getting carried away on restaurant.com vouchers before we get there and are pre planning too much. I have got a $25 voucher last week for Casa di Amore then with the sale was going to get voucher for Enoteca as its in our holte (venetian) and then the steakhouse one (but from what you said think we would struggle to spend $150 on food alone) so might do the lower denomination. Have also just added a Ben and Jerrys 50% off as all three of those have 70% off them. Any more suggestions or do you think that is enough pre planning for 5 days? Thanks0 -
October , NovemberOOh meant to say also. We wont have a car so how long would it take us to get there on the monorail (to Envy) from the Venetian would it be difficult, could we cab it?0

... apologies Bexster - i forget whether this is your first time in Vegas or not?
from our experience, it can be a bit dangerous pre-planning too many things - especially lunch - for us, we usually draw up a list of where we'd really like to go, everything else we just work around where we are at the time... for example, there's nothing more annoying than being in / around MGM at lunch, but knowing you have to rush down to Mandalay Bay for it when there's loads of options where you already are...
Top tip ---> nothing goes to plan in Vegas
Tea is a different thing as no doubt you'd want to get back to the hotel to get changed / freshened up before-hand anyways - again though, you may see something better / more exciting / more suited to what you fancy at the time
(we had 3 restaurant.com vouchers last time we went... came back with 3 restaurant.com vouchers!at least you can give 'em away on here though or re-use them if you plan to go back within their validity period (1 yr from purchase)!)

Hey NVH yes first time for us and it is our honeymoon. Very excited! Thanks for the great advice.:T0 -
SeptemberI would pass on Enoteca as I haven't seen a good review for it yet, but have seen plenty bad ones.
I bet you only use one restaurant.com voucher if you are lucky. O had the oppertunity to buy for loads of places at 80% off, but after checking prices, etc I'm certain the only one I am likely to use is Casa di Amore. You are more likely to use that one as you have to book the limo in advance so pretty much plan it in.0
