I certainly wouldn't wear heels in Vegas. Your feet get sore enough in flats and I dread to think what they would be like in heels.

As ferf said, if you are getting a taxi from A to B then you might be OK in heels, but for walking even from one hotel to the other I wouldn't recommend it.

Why not pack a pair of heels, but make sure you take flats too so you can suss it out for yourself?

It's red hot today again and walking is like being blown with a hairdryer. It's 99F at 4.30pm and might hit 100F by 5pm.

I love that hairdryer feeling. Sad or what?

I am still kicking myself for not booking the offer penny posted that was similar but had $50 freeplay when I could. I'd love to try it out - but as it would just be for one night as a taster even with the current promo prices minus freeplay it still seems more than I really want to pay to try a place out.

We have stayed here 3 times now ferf and we have had the $50 voucher given to us at check twice. There were loads behind the desk on Wednesday when they arrived, think the run them off then put your name on it so I think most folk get the voucher - saying that you need to join their players club Grazie - we actually still need to get round to this before we go. Last time we won more than $50 so we just cashed it in so it turned out to be free money fur us.

BTW The Killers were superb - the venue was too. I really find the US crowds strange though, can be loud but don't really move around too much. Liz & I were bouncing though through the full show - had to!!

We haven't used them but several people on this thread have - if you do a search of this thread for cityandshow.com you should find a few results. I'm sure pennylane has used them, and stoneman, and I think luci has used them for her current trip.

They do seem to have some quite good deals for the higher-end hotels.

    Hi,

We booked though City & Show in March of this year - think it was our last 3 nights at Planet Holly - would use them again if the price was right. As well as PH I noticed they had great deals on Venetian/Palazzo and even the Wynn at 1 time although I couldn't comment on recent offers as this trip was via Expedia.

No way I'd wear heels here :rotfl:

Ok I'll be serious Liz sticks to flats but you wouldn't look out of place as alot of folk wear heels here.

Good tips about the heels thanks - I think when we go to specific restaurants when we might dress up I will wear heels but will take flats for the day time and maybe even put some in my bag at night if we end up having to walk anywhere! The weather sounds brilliant - we were only talking this morning about what the weather may be like.

Thanks all - any more tips you can think of specific to 4 oct onwards (specially those out there now) would be MOST gratefully recieved.x

I remember when I went to California a few years back I found it really hard to adjust to the 8 hour time difference. Kept waking really early and wanting to go to bed about 5pm. Any tips for getting past that? Is Vegas awake in the mornings or best to sleep in and stay up late at night, even if you don't gamble?

Wish I knew the answer. I usually wake really early for a week or so, but ready to crash about 9-10pm. One trip I took naps, but felt 100 times worse when I woke so didn't do that last time.

Have taken naps this time and managed to stay up till 1am for 2 nights, but that's very unusual for me.

Went to bed at 1am, woke at 2.20am and here I am at 3am.

We have been know to wake in the middle of the night, go down and gamble and go back to bed for a couple of hours.

I just go as long as I can when I get there even though it might be two or three in the morning UK time, I find that works quite well for me. Its when I come back I suffer big time!!
