    Hi All,

I know this has proabbly been asked before but has any one used cityandshow.com its just I was looking at lowcostlasvegas.com and cityandshow.com they look to be both the same company but the same hotel and sames dates on cityandshow.com are cheaper than that on lowcostvegas.com.

Maybe me just been paranoid but I dont want to pay get all that way to be told, no sir u dont have a room

    Thanks
    Matt

We haven't used them but several people on this thread have - if you do a search of this thread for cityandshow.com you should find a few results. I'm sure pennylane has used them, and stoneman, and I think luci has used them for her current trip.

They do seem to have some quite good deals for the higher-end hotels.

I think the consensus is you don't have to book before - it most likely won't result in a significant savings and you may get it cheaper locally...so you can book before, but probably won't lose anything by waiting until you get there. But if you want to have it booked and set before you go and have the peace of mind in knowing it's booked, then that's an option too. So it's really down to the individual.

If you haven't already done so check post 3 regarding this topic. Some people will say the heli trips don't take you to the 'proper' Grand Canyon. Others say the west rim is a good enough representation and takes less time than a day trip to the south rim. If you have time hiring a car and driving to the south rim - even with an overnight stay - will likely cost a lot less than a helicopter trip though will take quite a lot more time.

does it make me a bit sad that the first thing I thought when I woke up this morning was 'we'll be in the US Friday afternoon (though not Vegas until the following Tuesday), and today is Sunday - so the Sunday ads will be online so I can check if there's any sales we want to hit before the new ads are out next Sunday!'

So far have checked Kohl's, Best Buy, Target, Meijer, JC Penney and Macy's and made mental notes of what to grab on Saturday before those sales end. WalMart's ad isn't up yet but I'll be checking as soon as it is. :)

I know I asked this a couple of months ago but I'm still scratching about try to find out if Barry Manilow is on next year and its driving me mad. My hubby asks me almost daily if I've booked our holiday for April and I keep having to fob him off with "best deals not out yet" "airline have a sale coming up". I dont want to book and be there on the days he has off just because I didn't investigate it properly. I've emailed the Hilton twice, who ignored me so I thought I would check with the oracles.

P.S. Thanks Ferf for replying to me last time, I did read the link you posted.

Just read this thread on Open Vegas and thought of you - in case you're still checking.

Says that there's a rumor he's moving to Mandalay Bay in 2010. Had a look around and it seems there's another rumour that has him moving to Paris (Las Vegas, not France) for a year.

Each store's website has a section called 'this week's ad' or 'weekly ad' or something like that - so just put in the zip code (89109 for Vegas) and there you go. In general, most ads in the US run from Sunday to Saturday so normally Sunday is the day for the new ones (and local Sunday papers will have the hard copies which we normally try to get when we're in town - something about sitting over breakfast looking through the ads that I love :))

Barry Manilow at Hilton was fanatstic but the the Theatre is old but it is small I am guessing that where ever he goes will be bigger than that. Unless they have Madonna, U2 or Paul McCartney (spit) lined up that their revenues will be hit so watch for bargain basement room rates for what is now at least a lovely place to stay.

Does anyone know if I can take my wedding dress on the plane as hand luggage. If so which airlines allow this or can you pay extra to do it?

    (Mrs B speaking)

When we got married it was the one piece of luggage rule but they did let us take the wedding dress in addition to my wifes handbag and they hung it up in a special place that protected it. I am sure it does not make any difference but we were in business but I am sure that most airlines would try to help regardless of where you are sitting
