The $100 free is on promo machines - not just any slot - so has almost no value - chances of winning something is nearly non-existant.

So the $175 in extras really isn't...the value of most of the others is relative to whether you would use it really.

Can I also point out on this one...the promo play is available to all new slot club members, regardless of whether you book on this offer. There are also coupons in the local mags for free entry to that comedy show. Good find on a cheap rate though, not criticising!

That's OK - I saw that they were $30 and that it's expected to take you 60-90 minutes...it sounds like it could be great or could be just meh so I'm hoping to read some reviews before deciding. Part of my thing is that it may be really busy in the early days - have read some reviews of it when it was other places and sounds like a nightmare if it's really busy.

I went to this on wednesday. My husband is a fan of CSI, I don't really watch it. I thought it was ok, took just over an hour, quite informative about how crimes are investigated etc. There are 3 crime scenes, and they allocate you a crime to solve. We had number 1 but I won't tell you about it in case anyone goes to it. Basically you get to see the scene, then there's loads of interactive displays for each crime scene and you get more info, dna results, blood results, alcohol levels for the victim etc, and it all helps you decide who you want to take in for questioning.

I'm not sure if it was worth $30 (no tax was added or anything), but it was ok, I wasn't disappointed or anything.

Been back from Las Vegas for a week and only just getting over the disappointment of leaving sin city. This is the first time back on the forum for a month and haven`t read all the way back but just wondering what people think of the chaos on the strip beside city centre. We found using the deuce from south strip to north strip was horrendous. Apart from that had a fantastic time was in Vegas 23/8 - 28/8 then 6/9 - 11/9 with Hawaii and LA in between.
Was anyone in Vegas on 9/9 I have never seen so many brides in one place as we did on that day.

We were in Vegas from the 6th to the 12th and we found the whole City Center thing a nightmare. The first day we were there, we were able to walk up past City Center with no problems. Then they shut the sidewalk down, meaning EVERYONE had to walk on the other side, which there simply wasn't enough room for! Especially taking all the !!!!!! slappers and nightclub pushers into account (who loved all the pedestrians in one place!)

I think we'll be very glad to go back next time when City Center has been finished!

And it was lovely on 090909 - all the brides!

Thanks Lesley- really appreciate the review. I think we will keep it as an idea if we're looking for something to do, but maybe won't rush out to it.

Hi, I'm after a bit of advice please. I'm going to Vegas on Tuesday and have trawled through the forum but there is so much there and some of it contradics itself.
I'd like to know the best way to get from the airport to the Bellagio, and once there, is there any best places for a beginner to go gambling and is the notion of free drinks in casino's real??
I'd also like to go to the Grand Canyon on a helicopter ride and some people have said book before you go but others have said book when you get there!!
Finally, any tips for trendy funky bars or resturants that are are not too extortionate and preferably dont contain Paris Hilton

Thanks very much, all responses will be much appreciated

A taxi is the best way - it's not necessarily the cheapest way but is the best. Tell the driver not to take the tunnel. Edited to add - you could take a shuttle, but I think they're $6.50 or so per person, so if there's more than one of you it's not going to cost much less than a taxi, you'll probably have to wait for it to depart until they have enough passengers and will probably stop loads of times before your hotel.

What sort of gambling do you want to do? If you're a beginner and want to play lower stakes at the tables Bellagio may not be the best option - there are several places with lower limits nearby like O'Sheas, Bill's, Casino Royale, etc. If you want to actually learn to play table games many casinos offer lessons for free.

Oh- found this, not sure if it's completely up-to-date so worth checking before you head out.

If you're talking slots then anywhere really...but if you've not played Vegas-style video slots before you can find some to play for free various places online. They can be confusing if you're not used to them. They do of course have the old-style 3-reel machines too.

And yes, free drinks while gambling are real. For some tips try http://www.cocktaildoll.com/ - she has sections on ordering and tipping and all kinds of good stuff.

Can't help with trendy funky bars as there are at least 2 things I am not - trendy and funky. I also hate bars. ;)

    glad it was helpful.

I'm not sure what happened when I made my taxi comment - I'm actually not one who advocates saying 'no tunnel' because circumstances can be such that the tunnel is a better option. The tunnel will normally be more expensive (and as such it's actually illegal for a driver to take the tunnel without asking if it's OK), but may be faster...so I normally think that people should tell the driver which they prefer - cheapest or fastest and leave it at that...but many suggest saying 'no tunnel' so there's no chance of being long-hauled.
