I'm just looking out my passports & ESTAs and noticed that my ESTA form says Manchester for "city where you are boarding".

This relates to our visit in March past where we did travel from Manchester. We were told that the form was good for 3 years so I didn't think about doing a new one - should I have done a new ESTA coming from Glasgow?

What about, we meet up at !!!!!!'s (I'm sure I read that their drinks prices are reasonable, at least compared to most placed in Vegas), suss the place out and if it's not suitable we can move onto MB.

It's very, very loud. :) It's also one of those places where they are purposely rude to you - it's part of their schtick...it's also a bit, how shall we say, a bit bawdy.

I only mention this in case people do not know and are immediately offended.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

There's a whole ESTA thread here but the short answer is no...apparently you do not (at least at present) need to update each time. It's good for 2 years, not 3. I updated my husband's anyway, because it's easy and I figure I'd rather update than not.

Thanks ferf. Might not be the place to go if it's really loud as we won't be able to talk. We can still meet outside and take it from there.

David, the flight and accommodation info is optional, but you can go online with the ESTA number and amend the details. I've amended it for each of our trips.

Yep 2 years not 3 - sorry - but that's a relief anyway knowing about the update.

Hi, my wife and I are off in mid October for our first trip to Vegas. We are stay for 7 nights, staying at Caesars Palace. We both want to do the helicopter trip to the Grand Canyon. I have been seaching on line for a good deal, the best so far appears to be Viator.com which is coming out at £172pp plus $40 fuel supp, which sounds a bit of a con really. As the title states, do you experts out there recommend booking on line before we go or wait until we arrive at Vegas?

    Thanks

  • I need to book a hotel as a backup and wondering which ones out of this list people would opt for?

    Mirage
    Luxor
    Mandalay Bay
    MGM Grand
    Monte Carlo
    New York New York
    Treasure Island
    Excalibur

What are your priorities? Location? Pool? Price? There's quite a wide range of hotels on that list. I'd knock Monte Carlo off for starters - still too much construction surrounding it.

Only priority is a nice decent hote mainly decent rooms reallyl.

Its a backup hotel if the hotel we are already booked into is crap.

Cheaper the better but with the deals on at these hotels i are looking at $100/night max monday thru to thursday.

That sounds about right to me. I think when we went about 5-6 years ago it was $375pp.

bear in mind that it takes 45 minutes or so to get from Vegas to the Grand Canyon one way, so thats not the 5-15 minute trip you get doing most touristy helicopter trips.

Go to the Grand Canyon in a car and it'll take you the whole day, it you have limited time then the helicopter trip is a great option.
