As long as you are happy with the price thats what matters ...just don't be tempted to look at prices during this week!
Ha ha I already did that and it's still the same for now! I'm working away all week so by the time I get to check again on Saturday it would have been too late to book anyway so I won't gutted then if I missed out.0 -
AugustHi all
Can't believe I'm heading off to Vegas for the first time tomorrow! (tomorrow night is at Hilton at Gatwick but still on way!)
Have been going through hundreds of posts on here and making notes of everything to do. As its our honeymoon we're staying at more expensive hotels than I would normally book - Venezia room at The Venetian for 2 nights, then Encore for 3 nights and finally THEhotel for last 2 nights. Have also booked a limo to collect us from airport as secret for OH!
We've booked to see KA one night and plan to maybe book some other shows once there.
We want to go on a helicopter trip to Grand Canyon and have been looking at companies recommended in first post. Prefer to book when we get there but where can we do this? Do they do tickets for this sort of trip at Tix4tonight?
Sorry I have another couple of questions as well - can you drink the tap water in Vegas or do you have to have bottled water in the rooms?
Is there any Internet cafes where we can log on just to let families know we've arrived? Not taking laptop as don't want to use it apart from this.
Last question - can you put aerosol cans in checked luggage, eg. OH is taking can of deodorant and shaving cream?
Can't wait to get there, thank you all so much for all your advice and help!0 -
SeptemberThere is another ticket place called Vegas Tickets for Less that had GC tours listed. They have a place down past the Coke bottle towards MGM and I think there was one inside O'Shea's, but I'm not 100% sure. There are alos guys selling GC tours inside CVS which is down past the Monte Carlo.
The tap water is perfectly save, but some people don't like the taste although it's never bothered me. You can buy bottled water cheaply at Walgreens, CVS or teh ABC Stores. There's an ABC inside the Fashion Show Mall. Or you could fill a bottle with melted water from your ice bucket.
There is an internet cafe way down the strip from where you are staying at the Showcase Mall and also at the Hawaiian Markeplace, but they are not cheap at around $12 for an hour. Some of the hotels have small internet kiosks which are around $5 for 10 mins that people use to print of their boarding cards for their return flight.
No problem with aerosols in checked luggage, just remember the under 100ml rule for liquids in hand luggage.
Hope you will write a trip report on your return as I love reading ones from people from the UK and first timers.0 -

In addition to the internet cafes and kiosks, the hotel business centre will have computers you can use for a fee. They aren't cheap, but last time we used them were not hideously expensive either and for the convenience may be worth it over schlepping a long way - only downside is they are usually open fairly limited hours. Worth looking into anyway.
Just checked Venetian does charge $15 per half hour - so definately not cheap, but at least it's an option.

October , NovemberHas anyone ever upgraded a flight with Virgin? We've already booked the flights but fancy an upgrade, probably on the way there. Option doesn't show on the website as booked through expedia but was curious how much an upgrade would be? I'm guessing a lot0

You may be able to upgrade at the check-in desk, if any seats available,
Economy to Premium is normally around £300 each, one way0 -

It's really better to do it on the way back, due to the time you'll be travelling. With Virgin, you'll be coming home overnight and arriving in London early AM so more space makes it better for sleeping. Unfortunately, this does mean that the return upgrades are sold a lot quicker than the outbound upgradesLove MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0 -
SeptemberHi,
Just booked a last minute trip for two of us to Vegas, going next Sunday can't wait! I've got loads of questions so hopefully it's OK if I put them in here. I'll start with the basic ones.
Got a fly-drive deal for £436 each which seemed good for direct flights from Manchester. I don't really want to drive when I get there (only going for a week) and I'm a bit dubious of hire car companies so can I just decline the car when I get there?
Booked the Stratosphere for 7 nights - deluxe king size room for £236 which seems good. Do I need to pre-book the rides there to save money or do I just do it when I get there.
There are loads of other bits I want to do but going to have a nose round the thread and elsewhere first before I bombard with any more questions.
So excited, can't wait!
The airport is right next to the strip, so forget about the car and jump straight in a taxi.0 -

There are GC leaflets and sellers everywhere, you can't miss them. However helicopter tours go to the West Rim of the Grand Canyon which is not the grand canyon views you would have seen on tv. The South/North rim are far superior but no helicopter are able to fly there.0 -

If they have any availability they will sell it at the check in desk.0
