I've got 13 days until I make my 4th trip, There is still no news on the possible swissport staff strike @ Manchester Airport. I've looked on the internet and I dont thnk swissport are agents (Baggage, re-fuelling) for Delta Airlines. So if they DO strike, then hopefully I will not be affected. I have not slept properly for a week because of this!!

Anybody else flying from Manchester next weekend??

I haven't seen it, but I haven't seen a good review for it yet. Most people say he looks bored and is extremely arrogant.

A girl on another board was very keen to see him despite me telling her this. When she came back she was really disappointed with the show. They had front row seats and someone came along and told them that after a certain act to stand up, clap and cheer and the rest of the audience would follow suit. All to massage his ego, but no-one else did stand up so they obviously didn't think much of it either.

She also saw Steve Wyrick and said he was much better. He's in the Miracle Mile.

I saw Steve Wyrick and thought he was excellent, got some half price tickets from the standard place.

Really, do this ASAP...if you're having trouble with figuring out which configuration the plane you're flying on is let us know what departure airport, airline and flight time and I'm sure someone can work it out for you

Thank you, i had completely forgotten to do this and your post reminded me! seats booked now, not the best seats in the world but good to get it done anyway :)

I don't think you should plan that precisely as most of it will go out the window once you get there, eg the time it takes to get from one hotel to another for a start.

I do make up a planner with sections for morning, afternoon, evening and night. It's usually about 2/3rds completed. Some things are cast in stone such as shows and meals that are already booked, but the rest is all tentative.

We are totally flexible with it, but it means we don't forget about something we intended doing.

I enjoy Vegas more with a planner as, the first time we went for more than a week, my mind went blank and I couldn't think of things to do for the last couple of days. I find with planning it that I am usually struggling to fit in everything we want to do or places we want to eat.

Thanks, will take the advice on board. Theres a few key things that are must do's so will try and group some of these together. At first we didn't think there was much but the more we look the more we find!

Can anyone whos seen the Lion King recommend any particular seats? Our totally random wedding day consists of an outdoor wedding in the morning, dune buggying in the afternoon, then dinner & a show, hopefully the lion king. Tempted to spring for the VIP tickets since we may as well go all out on our wedding but wondering if the second or third tier will be sufficient and use the left over money elsewhere. Any suggestions?
  • Im off to Vegas on Sunday from Manchester - anyone else?

My plans are all very "fluid" to say the least....decided to go with the flow as its my 1st time, ive got an idea of things i really want to see - the rest will be however i feel!

Im a lurker generally on the thread - thanks for the help and advice when ive asked for questions :cheesy:

I get married the 27th - when i return ill be sure to do a full trip report

Re the Lion King. We are seeing it on 26 Sept and booked the cheapest seats as soon as they became available. You will get a better view of the costumes and make up in the better seats.

I have read of plenty of people who have seen it and I haven't seen a bad word about it yet.

Yes we are, American Airlines 10.35 to Chicago. I am keeping my fingers crossed the strike doesn't happen

It is a mix and match for what people wear. OH just wore casual trousers and shirt for Lion King and it was fine, not sure I saw a suit in there. Are you going soon? It is really hot so you wouldn't want to wear a jacket.

YEAH I took one last time and i often wear one in the evening on a night out anyway in this country, hmm..think what ill do is pick my comfy one and wear it on the flight, that way ill have enough layers to take off during the flight

should i take a suit to vegas to dress up smart?
    what do other people think?
its a fair bit of weight in the case but it is nice to dress smart especially as off to see phantom, lion kng, ka, etc

You won't see many suits especially in the warmer months, but if you want to make the effort and dress up then go for it. My OH usually wears smart jeans or trousers with a nice shirt, but then he hates to wear suits at home so no way would he even consider it on holiday.

There seems to be lots of peeps about to head off soon - hope you all have a fab time:D

Has anyone stayed in THEHotel at Mandalay Bay? I am between staying there or in a Junior Suite at the Signature (I have stayed in a one bed here before for the Hatton fight against Mayweather Jnr) The price is quite similar with Signature maybe 80dollars more with the extra charge.

PS feel like a bit of a fool asking about the expedia.co.uk thing now. expedia.ie only did hotels the last time I checked about 3-4 months ago

TheHotel is a really nice hotel. I like the fact that you get a one bedroom suite that's big enough for 4 people (good friends or family) with a living room and desk area. There's a minibar, big bathroom and separate toilet. We've stayed there 3 times now and are going back next week for a week. I've tried other places and found it's the best place to stay. Get the chance to get up and watch TV without waking up the other half.

Lot of people have complained about how far down the Strip it is. It is the last hotel but if you have a car it's easy to get around. Closer to Town Square and easy to get to the backs of the hotels without going down the Strip. Plus you can park at the hotel and don't have to walk through the casino if you don't want if you just want to head to your room.

Prices are reasonable for a stay. We've paid £110 per night through CityandShow.com. I know it's not the cheapest room in Vegas but I like to have a bit of room to move around. It's right next to Mandalay Bay casino as well with the monorail to Luxor and Excalibur. The Deuce stops outside as well.
