Your car insurance company? Roadside assistance? Please explain why there is a 12 month warranty with products then if you can 'legally' get them replaced/repaired if it breaks after 30 months? Do you know howsome customers treat their products?

Customer peace of mind. End of.

You have misunderstood me, what I meant was is the information contained on the card is nearly identical to the conditons on our recipts. If you buy a product from aldi you have to go through the manufacturer, they dont supply any warranty at all, is that illegal?
    Yes, very.

Glowy, why not just spend 10 minutes to peruse the easy to read DTI website, it is that easy.

The law states that a product should last a reasonable length of time, regardless of any warranty offered.

No thanks, comet dont make the products, it isnt their fault if it breaks down and this last a reasonable amount of time? I feel like im repeating myself but if you treat your prodcts correctly then they should last, I havent had one item go faulty on me out of the thousands I have spent there.

Glowy, I have to commend you on your reslience on this thread, but looking a the DTI website might give you a few eye openers - the consumer can seek a reapair/replacement up to 6 years (might be 5, can't quite remmeber) after the date of purchase.

So how can they do it then, it gets advertised in the press in the stores and yet they still are in business.

Yes I know that, bt it is up to yourselves to prove that it wasnt fit for the purpose, how can you do that? Do you have a time machine, oh and thanks.

Yep, I bet if you took the item back to the store they would replace it or refund, I do not have to deal with the manufacturer, only the retailer, and if it went as far as court the customer would win.

    LOL

Glowy I am sorry but this one is not up to you. It is the law. It has gone through parliament through the house of lords and past the queen.

They all apologise for not asking you but you were busy that day.

Oh. And they let all the judges know as well.

I suppose it could be shown by a comparison. If I knew someone who had a similar item that was still working correctly after the same amount of time (ok maybe more then one person would be needed), then that would show premature failure - it is also down to how much the item cost, I would expect a £400 DVD palyer to out last a £29.99 Player -as any reasonable person would.
