I too have had a clearout, thanks to one of Bronnie's other threads and most of the things I have left in my capsule wardrobe are expensive.

I kept 5 pairs of trousers, all either Austin Reed (£110 per pair) /Jigsaw £100/Hobbs £100. All my work shirts are Austin Reed £60-£70 each. I also have an Austin Reed dress which cost £60 in the sale.

I have 2 pairs of Ugg boots (both from the US when the exchange rate was better) and a pair of Duo boots (£175). None of my shoes were overly expensive.

As for bags, I only kept a few, 2 Emily Trotter bags, one was £350 the other was £85. 2 Betsey Johnson Bags, one was £200, the other was a present from my Sister but cost £300 and a Butler & Wilson bag which is the most gorgeous thing!! (£120)

I have just sold loads of things on ebay and earned a lot more than I thought I would, in fact, the money has paid for 80% my summer holiday.

I have no plans to buy any more clothes and will look after the ones I have left which should mean that they last a while.

It's really interesting to learn what other people have in their wardrobes.

    SPC4 No1066 - £948.95,
    SPC5 No1066 - £659.49 (2 stone 13lbs)

I think my most expensive item of clothing was an all saints dress, it's a gold batwing dress and sort of a knitted material. I have worn in twice for nights out and I can't see myself wearing it again as the material catches and pulls some threads also I saw a girl wearing it in a real life story in a magazine who didn't look very nice in it so it put my right off! It cost £120 so £60 per wear, which isn't too bad I suppose.

My most expensive shoes would have to be my ugg boots, I have 3 pairs of tall uggs which cost £170 each in sand, chesnut and black. I also have some short uggs in a blueish turquoisey colour which were £120. The uggs were worth every penny as I wear them loads!
I also have a pair of black leather moda in pelle over the knee boots which were £150 which although I haven't worn them that much were totally worth it as they are so nice and they are specially designed for people with slim legs and I don't find boots that will fit well on my legs everyday so I had to buy them while I had the chance!!

Oh, just though my most expensive item of clothing is actually a superdry cream leather jacket which was £170. It was worth it as it's so nice and soft leather!

As some of you will already know I have a huge bag collection, I'm not even going to add it all up :eek:so apart from the bags my most expensive piece would be my Armani trouser suit cost £1300 about 3 years ago, it is nice but not really my style and was bought for a specific occasion when I needed to look super smart, its dark beige and classic cut and has been worn once:confused:I will keep it forever as it wont date but pound for pound I get much better value from everything else in my wardrobe, just out of interest the occasion I needed it for went exactly the way I wanted it to, was that down to the suit? Who knows but I believe it was a wise purchase:)

I've had a couple of messages asking me about the occasion mentioned, occasion was probably the wrong word, meeting would of been better and it wasn't that exciting I'm afraid just important to me, without going into too much detail it was a legal/medical meeting that involved a considerable amount of cash.

I remembered last night I have actually worn the suit on one more occasion it was to an appeals meeting for my daughter who had been turned down for a place at the best local school, they wouldn't even let her put her name down on a two year waiting list, when we moved two years ago, the meeting involved just me and somehow I managed to swing it so that she got offered a place straight away, the mums out there will know how important this is and how difficult it can sometimes be. My suit makes me feel like I've bought the big guns out and am invincible so I guess so far its been worth every penny:)

    Ooooh, fab clothes talk!
Its all about the cost per wear (CPW) of an item!
I have a skirt bought from pierce fionda, designer at Debenhams range for £70, but 17 years ago when £70 was a lot for one skirt and really way more than I could afford but I LOVED it….its my absolute favourite, pink silk with devore pattern and wild tassled a-symmetric hem, like a shawl. I wear it 6/7 times a year and always get asked about it, its stunning. Which on the CPW scale makes it less than 60p each time ive worn it, and it comes down with each wear bargain!! I keep looking for the same one on e bay as mine wont last forever but no luck-though I cant imagine why anyone would part with such a gorgeous skirt!! sadly
I love well cut clothes like sarah pacini and ishiko-quirky, lagenlook pieces, I have an Ischiko top I got for £120 recently-I just loved it but have only worn it once as though its lovely off, it doesn’t come to life on, unlike a sarah pacini simple black tube dress that will have cost over £300 new but I got for £3.99 in a charity shop-looks nothing special off put the cut is AMAZING) put it on lose lbs-I love it soooooooo much, but ignored the dry cleaning label and machine washed gently and it came up fab OR the CPW comes up ridiculously!! Ditto with a joyce ridings skirt, simply superb cut, dips at both corners, huge pockets, a winter skirt, so not for now, cost £120 on e bay which was less than half its original price but I will wear it season after season and it will never date
I have recently bought an orla kiely huge bag from e bay for £90 and its just fab, huge, in reds, lovely laminated bag that wipes clean, and is my CFB-current favourite bag, I also have a huge super soft leather one I got from john rocha for £75 and that’s just gorgeous
Have looked at the mulberry bags and just don’t get it-but its each to their own-I’d never dare take one out if I paid SO much ! LOL
I have a bursting wardrobe-literally, but its definitely the well cut stuff I spent a bit on that’s been the best investments for me-then I accessorize up with t shirts etc from M&S or wherever
But charity shops are the best for finding treasures that would have cost a bomb new-yesterday I bought the most gorgeous little black dress from coast, all Grecian with draping and flattering cling, in all the right places, it will wear and wear and for £3.99!!
And a tux jacket I got for £7 from a charity shop, per una, like new and £70 in the shop will run for years!
But historically my best ever CPW item must have been a denim jacket my gran bought me when I was 17, I wore it all through my Uni days, everyday, then for years and years after-probably 13-4 years when it literally fell apart, the CPW must have been minus a penny or something!!!!
LOL I forgot how MUCH I love clothes, talking about clothes, thinking about clothes!!!
even god cant change the past-no matter how many times i cry
for levi, leo, smudge and arfa:A my angels

Hmm - I would have to say my Dianese Leathers (should have been £700 +) However I wear them everyday (so even for an expensive a pound a wear they are really really worth it - they are great comfortable, well padded and sorry but I feel reasonablly feminine in them)
Apart from that some hideously expensive but fabuosly gorgeous Myla underwear (luckily bought for me as the man in my life at that point in time did not even notice !!!!)
Oh and a gorgeous Vollers corset bought as a christmas present by my now ex-husband, marriage might not have worked but what a wonderful man (and fantastic present)

I only buy classic stuff for evenings and work wear but I do buy a lot off ebay bnwt. Recently bought a suit for a wedding £600 on tags, paid £85, and a phase eight dresss and shawl tagged at £200 for £45. Love a bargain, though probably spend more because I then buy more often.

I dont have a capsule wardrobe, I have a black hole!!

I wear a lot of joseph Ribkoff stuff and his prices are not cheap. I love bags and shoes too, I have a mulberry darwin and a lovely pair of Laboutins, and a pair of Manolos.
