My French connection jeans £34 only worn a couple of times. They're miles too long so as soon as I get them taken up I will wear them. Same with my Yanuk jeans, miles and miles too long!
I've decluttered my wardrobe so I don't have these expensive mistakes leering at me any more! One thing that didn't sell on ebay was my green ball gown with diamantes. I love it but wouldn't be brave enough to wear it again. So £35 for one wear.
I do have a pair of Clarks black leather boots that I bought last year for £65 and it took me weeks to get up the courage to part with that amount of cash for them. They saw me through the winter though and will do many more winters to come. I do need to give them a good polish though!
Oh and my wedding dress. £295.99. Worn once. Now what do I do with it. It's hanging from the bannisters at the moment until I decide.

Is it a style you might wear again? In which case, get it dyed a different colour. Et voila, instant swanky occasion dress!

Or you could go for the trashing it option (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trash_the_dress)...

Lose = the opposite of find/gain (eg "I'm going to lose weight this year")
  • probably my handbags :s

The most I've ever ever spent on a bag was just over 1K and that was my mums 40th birthday present, her mothers day present and her christmas present for the next 2 years after that.

My most expensive bag is a lulu guiness limited edition bag that I payed £500 for and I love it. Ive never used it yet as I'm scared to but when i get married im having the bag instead of flowers.

Clothes wise probably around £250 on a smart mid length wool coat that has lasted 4 years so far and will last many more to come.

Shoes, not a big shoe fan. £150 on a pair of doc martins that again have lasted me many many years and will last more to come.
Debt free 3 years early :j
Savings for house deposit - very healthy

Cash back earnt so far £14.57

I couldn't do it! I love the dress but I'm never going to wear it to a ball (too big) and there's no way I could trash it. DD(7) would like me to keep it for her. I just need to find somewhere to put it now!

Edit to say: Well, those of you who know me from the Fashionista thread (which will probably be most of the people on this thread!) will know that my dearest item of clothing probably cost me about a tenner! I reckon goanmad's will be a Chanel dress for 50p! :rotfl: Let me think...

A gorgeous black strapless prom dress from Debenhams with netting underneath and a boned corset... cost me about £100 but worth every penny - back in my spendthrift days!

A beautiful pink silk dress from Monsoon... £110 (but not to me, I got it for £30 in the sale:rotfl:)

A purple velvet handbag that is my fav bag in the whole world.. bought from Luna Llena in Spain for about €50 and worth every cent, aaahhhhhhh

I can't think of anything else but there must be more. Even the things I've listed aren't that expensive really! I have plenty of clothes that were expensive at their original price but I got them for peanuts... does that count? :D

I'm so looking forward to reading everyone else's - reckon there will be some proper expensive stuff!

Tara you're a girl after my own heart! Been racking my brains to think of the most expensive thing in my wardrobe and two things come to mind:

TopShop Samba shoes (turquoise and grey colourway) Bought them in TS with the rest of the vouchers I'd been given as a leaving gift by the girls at work. Cost £65 (but to me £20). Worn 'em twice, absolutely love 'em and have to keep getting them out of their box and stroking them.

Vintage 1970's emerald green leather trench coat - paid £46 for it on eBay about 3 years ago . Worn it lots but it tends to attract a lot of attention from pervs!!!

My most expensive items are probably my bags. I have a few Coach/Juicy Couture leather ones that were originally $350/400 but i got them for around $100/150 each:D I also have 2 pairs of uggs which should have been £170 each but i got them both for that amount (in the US when the exchange rate was better). As you can tell i am a bargain shopper, like nice things but don't like paying for them. I also have a lovely pair of knee length brown riding boots from clarks that i got for £45 in their 50% off sale.

Clothes wise I have a long black italian wool winter coat that cost me £120, and a coach jacket that was £120(but i got for £60 in the sale). The rest of my clothes are really high street brand (oasis/river island/warehouse) and again mostly bought in the sales. Bags and toiletries are definitely my downfall, i spend a fortune on those so have to make cutbacks somewhere:rotfl:

Mine is currently my trainers (£65 plus £16 for insoles) but when in training they get worn 6 days a week and last about 1000 miles a go (500 for the insoles), which is max about 25 weeks sometimes less than 20  but yes they are worth it!

However, I did once buy a dress from coast for £180 and wore it twice then resold it on ebay for £50...so that was £65 each wear  but it was worth it - people still talk about the dress - but I lost too much weight to keep it and didnt want to deprive someone else of the joy :D

My sister paid £30 for her wedding dress by the way :p
