Toto - a suggestion that may or may not be helpful - is he looking at the visa specially for the arts industry?? I think its O1 or something...

The wait time for these visas is 3-7 days...and you can still go to the Embassy and start the time from there - sometimes they can do them the same day:

There may still be time if she gets off her lazy a*** and goes to the embassy!

Didn't get chance to post earlier, actually had to do some work today! then had a three hour meeting with a client.

Bookie - I hope your meeting with the bank went okay. As for Landlord you will of course be asking for a reduction in rent due to scaffolding affecting trade!

Thanks Sammy, I won't let him lie, I would rather starve for the next 6 months than let him be deported. It isn't just about potential work in the US, we are still planning that move to nashville, I will not have that screwed up because of 40 dates of work.

Management have gone quiet, no doubt off on the p1ss for the night. I will deal with it tomorrow morning. If getting the visa were simple I would just do it myself and take the hit on the £1500 it costs but it really needs to be them doing it. Apart from anything else he is somewhere in europe and has his passport with him.

There is no come back either, no way of getting loss of earnings, no contract, no anything. That's how the industry works, you get asked to do a gig, agree and turn up, invoice then nag like hell to get paid.

It all sucks, the whole industry is about making as much money as possible. No one gives a stuff about band members or crew, they are all dispensable.

It is terrible how they are treated Toto, I agree. They aren't treated as people with families but as commodities...having done the accounts for some support acts just lately I was quite shocked as to how the industry operates..and yet they take it cos they are hoping to make their big break

:rotfl: my mother was offered her big break once.....to get the job she just had to sleep with the 'star'. She refused and it went to someone else...

    I actually didn't think things like that 'really' happened....methinks i am a little naive...still!
