Hi,
If you google Halifax you'll prob find who Chief Exec is.
I know you don't claim IS but I wondered if one off payments or loans would be available in times of crisis.CCs @0% £24k Dec 05 £19,621.41 Au £13400 S 12600 Oct £11,981 £9481 £7500 Nov £7250 D £7100 Jan 6950 F £5800 Mar£5400 May £4830 June £4660 July £4460 Aug £3200, S £900, £0 18/9/07 DFW Nerd 0420 -
I am pleased you had a productive day yesterday, emotionally and in terms of orders. It seems to me that you joy and energy you get from that job is vital and when you couldn't do it, the problem wasn't the job but other things getting in the way.
Your descriptions of social services and the NHS make me very angry indeed. I have no doubt they are true which is what makes me so angry. There are too many people in the civil service looking after their own little budget not looking at the wider picture. If that weren't enough, the tone of the correspondence they send is, frankly, insulting.
I know you are already a very busy lady, but I wonder whether, when times are better, that it would be worth finding another source of income which is more weather/mobility proof. I don't mean instead of Kl, but maybe trading a few hours you spend on Kl for something else. Perhaps some home based, flexible hours paperwork for someone else or some exam invigilation in the summer. I know from personal experience that finding home based work is difficult because it is in demand, but maybe you could trade parts of your outdoor work with a colleague in return for doing some phone calls/paperwork for them.
Anyway, well done on getting all those orders and hope your regulars have some nice big orders to bridge that shortfall.
Best wishes.Mortgage, draw down Sept 2014: £222,000

Thank you all for your advice and help. Km, Ive been a bit of an idiot. I dont need to sell an extra £1500 over March, just another £1K. I get 21% comm so that would be an extra £210, and then at the end of the Kl period, I receive a bonus of at least 18% on my sales less the vat, and usually 21% less the vat , so assuming the latter, selling another £1K will give me £210 comm plus £178 bonus and that more than covers the £349 req. So, an extra £250 in sales per week, not £375, is all that is req.My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)

Snail mail IS post, PaF, just a way of describing how slow it is compared with email.
I'd agree though that writing to the chief exec. is the best way forward as emails can conveniently not be received...:o0 -
Thanks for clarifying that Smart. I am going to write to him at the weekend just to see what he comes back and says!
Well. picked up some more wonderful orders today. Haven't yet sorted them out but think they total in the region of £200. Someone is looking after me! My new team member has also put his first order through, so chuffed for him.
Other news, picked up my new glasses with new lenses yesterday. Still getting used to them, however can see much better than before.
My neighbour has just popped round with a box of choccies for me. He and his wife have een away for a month and I looked after their house while they were away. Didn't expect such a treat and now feel guilty for binge eating sweets with a cuppa!
Mum tel me to say she would lend me the money for the adaption if I got stuck, however I really do think I will be fine now. I dont want to put her in that situation. All I need is an extra £250 in sales per week which will be relatively ok to get. The business is out there, its just finding it. That is not the issue, its my ability to see it through without getting totally worn out or my walking getting worse. That just can not happen, its not an option.
So, feeling a lot calmer about things. Dont have all the answers but then who does, just somehow when Im working I feel everything is ok, its MY business, its getting us through these times, its the best business decision I ever made, it makes me feel alive and that everything is going to be ok. It helps keep me positive and focused about living now, and about creating the future of my dreams.
On that note, need to wash up, sort out my orders quickly, go to bed. Busy day tom, deliveries of orders, books to get out. Dd is at the holiday club again. Yes, we are getting back on an even keel I feel!.

So, today is a new day, and the start of "Operation get through February and March with everything paid for"! Then assuming that happens - anything else is simply not an option - there is no reason why I could not push myself ongoingly to achieve great things and reduce my debt and make an emergency fund, and generally have a less worrying life in the money dept.
I have a business in which I can be proactive, the sky is the limit in what I can achieve, what am I waiting for! Am v blessed to be able to say that in these difficult economic times. Off to get dd breakfast, get dressed, get dd to holiday club, and on with a very productive day. My focus is back to the positives, not the negatives, they are in the bin! I can and I will do it!My debts at LBM (2009)Grand Total £161,983.77.(Incs everything, mtge, cr cards, loans)

Thats better news too
Also you will get that emergency fund before the snow appears again next year so hopefully you will never have to have that worry again x0
