  • I think you've made up your mind already. You still don't feel clear and fully understand their policies/proceedures re this situation and you don't feel the compensation is enough...keep going PF and get the result that sits better with you.

    Good luck

Hi PaF! Wow, you really are taking no rubbish from Helifax, are you? Best of luck with your battle - I certainly don't think they are ready to take you on. ;)

I just wanted to wish you and your DD a wonderful Christmas and a great start to 2012. You have achieved HUGE amounts this year, and I am sure that you will go on to achieve the same amount, if not more next year. Take pride in what you have accomplished, and every time you have a mental wobble take a look at that certificate you earned, and tell yourself that now you are on top all you have to do is stay there! :D xxx

  • Happy Xmas everyone. Re the Halifax, the Banking Ombudsman are seeking an explanation which is what I have always asked for from the beginning. I do want to know exactly whats what having been told so many conflicting explanations from the Halifax. The Ombudsman do feel I should accept the compensation offer though so to that end I have as long as I have that explanation re how the insurance will work from here on in. Im going to get it back to how it was and then when the complaint has finished cancel it if the premium is just adding to the mortgage debt. However, if my mortgage amount stays the same and the insurance is covered it is clearly in my interests to keep it as it is. I don't want to increase my outgoings unnecessarily. So, will wait and see.
So, so far, Xmas eve popped over to my parents to drop off some homemade goodies. Mum didn't say hello to me at all, just kept to saying hi to dd and goodbye to dd. I was really taken back by that. It was clear they didn't want us to stop and really I didn't want to anyway with such childish games being played. Mum did text me on Xmas day after I texted them Happy Xmas so that was nice. I want to be happy Ive done the right thing, and I remind myself that its mums problem. I love them however Im not going to do what they want me to and thats final. Ive never seen this side of them before but then Ive never "rebelled" like this before if it is rebelling wanting to keep my home and keep working and do our own thing at Xmas just as my brother and sister are. Anyway, its their problem. Im glad we popped over to them and Im glad I made the effort.
Xmas eve after the visit to my parents we went to a dear friend who had done a lovely buffet. Lovely afternoon/eve.
Xmas day was just wonderful. Woke up at 7ish to be shown by dd what Father Xmas had delivered, then promptly fell asleep till 10am. Then got up, made mince pies, opened some presents, got dressed and casually arrived at my friends over the road for 1ish where we were told to do nothing but enjoy the day and that we did. My friend was just so kind and did a lovely lovely meal.. Boxing day was spent in our dressing gowns chilling out, relaxing, making a start on a puzzle, watching some dvds. Then finally getting dressed to go to another friend in the eve which was lovely. Dd and I have enjoyed ourselves so much. Yesterday we visited my cousin and her family which was again just lovely. So, New Years eve, the "party is here", return the compliment to all my dear friends if they want somewhere to go...

Today, its back to work for just a few hours. Getting my brochures out for collection next Tuesday when dd goes back to school. All my bills are covered. Its possible I will have to wait a week to pay half of one not least because any Kl deliveries are not delivered until mid next week and if cheques are used to pay for goods that takes us into the following week before that money can be utilised. But that is just how it will have to be. All things considered Im pleased with how Ive finished the year financially and having revised my outgoings and what I need to achieve each month to keep things going and with the three PPI complaints on the go Im optimistic that 2012 will be a fantastic year. My feeling is that although the projections are that the economy will get worse before it gets better as long as I stay proactive and keep my head down I wont feel it so much in terms of my business. I want to fall over less, 6 falls in total this year which have knocked me for six, the tripping up is just always there but its still "containable" so I will just keep going. The pins and needles I think is getting worse so that I do want to get checked out again I won't let these things stop me..They are not the end of the world!Yes, theres a lot to feel positive about...

Well done, PaF: I think you are doing fabulously! :T

2012 is BOUND to be a brilliant year for you, given your postive attitude.

Perhaps clearing out the negative attitudes that have been in your life and creating doubt for you is a painful but necessary step you needed to take in order to help you progress further.

Hopefully when you mum sees that you are not changing your mind she will be sensible and realise that she needs to change hers. ;) If not, you have done what you need to (for now) to ensure that you can go on doing what you need to do.

Team PaF all the way! :T

As the old saying goes you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family.
    Never a truer word.

Sounds like a fab xmas, and a brilliant New year to come. You both take care xx

  • Happy new Year! Dds bday yesterday. Had a lovely day. Shes back to school today, Im back to work properly. Lots of things to sort, my car, the docs, phone some customers, the Banking Ombudsman, bits and pieces. All just about straight on the financial front although it is tight for the next three days or so until my next Kl delivery arrives. Accounting for outgoings Im down to the last £1 in my overdraft but that said everything is covered which is the main thing. Onward and upward...
