Don't feel guilty Mooloo, I agree with the others about not feeling pressured into treating someone. Hope the heat pads help.
Well done on the drawers BB, I'm so looking forward to seeing your new home if you'll have me this weekend? :T As for giving birth in a yurt......if we were in Mongolia they may eat the placenta :rotfl:(I have no idea if they would actually, but know they do eat testicles as a delicacy!). Thanks for the offer of the pregnancy test Whitewing but it'd be a miracle if we were already...and I already have one of my own (long story!) - do pregnancy tests have a best before date?:rotfl:
Cottage sounds lovely Nyk, feel free to send us the details - if we timed it well we could have a Scottish Frugaldom baby!
I'm syre there's a more frugal alternative SF but Bi0oil is meant to be good for scarring. The scar from my cat scratch disease abcess (doesn't that sound lovely) will apparently take 2 years to 'improve'.
Well done on all the DIY skills being learnt, v impressive! I have to confess to being very lazy these days with an OH and dad who are magic with toolsI am genuinely embarrassed by this and am determined to stop being such a 'girl' when we get back and get them to teach me stuff.
:Tsaluting Mr HS for his frugal antics, isn't it fab when they surprise you like that!
2 more viewings done today so looking hopeful for a commitment by the end of the week. Just spent the afternoon at new friend's house, which is gorgeous - I'm going to take OH round to show him the extension I'd like ie theirs :rotfl:
Right, best go as only an hour to plan how I'm going to get a wince out of OH:rotfl:
ETA: lol I can see there's going to be a lot of winceing going on tonight! Well done on your 4th star BB :T
Oh and that reminds me, I've been having lots of productive ideas about setting up mini skill share schemes when we get back, like a baby sitting circle, pet care etc. There's a couple just down the road who grow their own and have chickens so I thought if my growing went well I maight have a chat with them about growing different things and swopping produce for theirs/eggs...ooh it's all so exciting! :jThe 1,000 Day Challenge:Feb 16, 2016500/30,000

OH WOW, I'm so excited!!! (sorry Nyk) We've just found out that I have some voluntary work too! In fact I burst into tears
I'm so happy that I will be working again and doing something truly worthwhile with children who really deserve a fresh chance in life :T:j:T:j

Today is not a day I want to go out - absolutley heaving it down between 'lighter' showers..... I don't know about "drowned rat" weather, it's more like "drowned duck" :rolleyes2
But elder GD has a hospital appt for another test today (follow up from a kidney op last summer which, according to the results of the 2 tests already done since then, doesn't seem to have worked especially well), so GD, DD and I are going to be standing around for buses to get to that and then home againAppt is at a brand new hospital, which is practically slap-bang in the centre of the city, but in a part of it I don't know and reached only by a complicated one-way system I've never negotiated even outside of rush-hour - and I believe the parking is horribly expensive as well, which means (especially given DD has a monthly bus pass anyway) it's a lot cheaper to use buses than drive......
Had to get a broom out and sweep water away from the front door half an hour ago  My drive comes down a slight incline towards the door, then there's a slight lip onto terracotta tiles (under the overhang/porch bit), then the door - and the water was half way across the tiles!! There's a gutter piece across the front of the garage door, but no such drainage outside the house entry which seems daftCheryl0 -

That sounds like LETS. :j Early start here, chickens & ducks got sent out to play before 7am so I could get computer work out way first then make a batch of lemon curd before lunchtime. LETS email went out offering this week's 'ccoking' and I have 3 orders for soup, 5 for lemon curd and one for eggs. :T It's going towards B&B for friends who are coming to DDs wedding. Will PM you the link to local farm cottage, but I don't think it has a maternity wing. :rotfl:
It's quite bright here this morning, my guess is that the sun will get through before lunchtime but there's cloud enough for a shower or two before that. I'd make a great weathergirl - there's going to be loads of weather today! :rotfl: (Shereen, if you're reading this, it's a wee bit dreich but we're expecting copious amounts of sunshine later in the day. :rotfl:)
Not long now, SF, hope everything is packed and ready to go.Where did you say you were going and who is going with you?

Hello, all you happy people out there.
I can't linger long. Have lots to do today, before I need to take an afternoon nap!:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Morning all! It was frustrating not being able to get on last night, especially as about 5 mins after the news about the voluntary work I also heard that the head of the new school that's opening here next April is very interested in hearing from me, especially as she is having lots of staffing issues :T So I've written a draft covering letter, which I need to get a head friend of mine to give the once over as I've lost all confidence in how to write one
and then take it in personally with my CV. Hopefully I'll hear something before we go...
It is like LETS Nyk, just my own mini version with some neighbours to keep it simple. Well done on your orders, that's great :T I'll look into whether ours does the food orders thang too, as I know some mean cake recipes
Thanks for the recipe Lynda, look forward to trying them. When you mde them did you follow the recipe quantities? ie do I need to make less than suggested as obviously dont't want loads to freeze if we're going away?
Hope the weather improves CW so you don't get too drenched! Have you got any sandbags for your front door?
Today is my dad's birthday so I'm off for a birthday lunch with him, Mum and lots of friends. Before that I need to go to the dentist, pick up a prescription, walk the dog, put the washing out and lots more! Have a great day everyone x
