Parking ticket in Dual use car park

Since I have been advised by a parking enforcement officer that these disabled spaces ‘don’t apply’ on a Saturday I believe that I should not pay this penalty charge.
What does the signage say.
Your ticket must be issued in accordance with the signage regardless of what anyone tells you.
BTW, the ticket office only have your word that you were advised by a parking enforcement officer.Nature wants the human race to survive. However, it does not depend on us because we are not its only invention.0 -

I will check on saturday -
I know they've only got my word but that's often what it comes down to in court - the jury has to decide who is credible so it's worth a try. I am not lying about what was said and I had parked there before...but it'll be interesting to see what happens...it's only the cost of a stamp and a letter so worth a go I think...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

The jury ? No jury involved.0

I was making an analogy - in a court case it can often be one person's word against another. Much as in this case. I say I have previously been told that the disabled sign did not apply. They might say I am lying. They might believe me much as a credible witness might be believed. I did not say there would be a jury in THIS case - just making the comparison.Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily Dickinson

Understood. Small claims is 'the balance of probabilities'. Appearances and being genuine count for a lot.0

Mostly. It depends of the nature of the charges. The 'burden' can differ.0

Gosh is this going to develop into a discussion about the legal system?
That'll be interesting...Don't put it DOWN; put it AWAY"I would like more sisters, that the taking out of one, might not leave such stillness" Emily DickinsonJanice 1964-2016

Irate Driver..............Well I was told I could park here.
Traffic Warden..........Who told you that you could park here?
Irate Driver..............That guy over there, he has a hand held computer just like yours.
Traffic Warden.........Oh him! He's always doing that, its his little joke. He's really a meter reader for the gasboard.;)Nature wants the human race to survive. However, it does not depend on us because we are not its only invention.0 -
