I heard the manager of our local post office talking to another member of staff about it yesterday, after getting off the phone to a higher up boss, and she said it wasn't confirmed when it was, but it was proposed at a time when it would completely screw up the christmas post. She seemed quite concerned about it. I couldn't hear all of what else she said as the lady serving me started talking!

That's going to be really !!!!!! in so many ways if it does screw up xmas. I was planning on selling a lot on ebay in order to be able to pay for my xmas, but that's not necessarily going to work out well with the strikes going on.

On the plus note my latest homing pigeon arrived! :rotfl:

They sacked me on Thursday  but I can't complain really as I did it for almost 2 years. I'll miss the stamps at Christmas though & I wont be entering many postal comps.

I wondered if they had sacked the other person in my town doing this as I have about twice or three times as many letters to post for the last 2 weeks and for the next 2 weeks. Or may be they are getting their money ( stamps ) out of me before I get sacked. :rotfl:

Discussed the proposed strike with our postie today - he is against it! He told us that he understands it will consist of 1 day strike by postmen, next day strike by sorters and so on. Will still build up a huge backlog but not quite as bad as total stoppage of all staff.

    Potential Changes to our Panel

We wish to make you aware that in order to fulfil our responsibilities as the independent monitor of Royal Mail's Quality of Service, we will be required to change our panel to make sure we are providing an accurate measure across all of the UK. During the course of the year, we will have to set the status of some of our panellists from Active to Reserve and invite Reserve panellists in other areas of the UK back onto our Active panel. In either case, we will contact you to let you know if you are affected.

Does this affect all postal surveys?
This change will only affect panellists' participation on the standard Stamped and Metered Letter surveys.

    Have I done something wrong?
No. You have been a superb panellist, and we have valued all that you have done for the survey. If your status does change (and it might not), it is simply because we have too many panellists in one area of the UK and not enough in another.

Will you ever need me again?
We wish to reassure panellists that should we require to set your status to Reserve this does not mean that we will not require your services in the future.

I wish my mum, who lives in another part of Aberdeen would get accepted for the survey and do the mis-delivery thing, she gets mail for her neighbours and gets mail for people round the corner.

There are loads of people in Aberdeen on the panel as I have at least 1 letter to go to Aberdeen each week

Same here as well, I get at least 4 or 5 with Aberdeen Mail Centre on the postmark, and 3 or 4 a wk for other Aberdonians including businesses.
