I have had loads of queries lately. Sometimes 2 a day and put it down to the postal strike. I don't keep notes either as that would be too much to do.

I've had three queries to resolve in the last two days about received letters. I know I have entered them correctly in the system on the day I got them, but there's actually no way of double checking because I've already sent them back to Kantar and there isn't any way to look up what you have entered on their site. I could just choose the reject option I suppose but that's letting Royal Mail off the hook, isn't it? It hadn't occurred to me before but I suppose now as well as entering everything online I'll have to keep a written note of the received letter number and the date etc it was received (and I suppose the same with the sent ones - though they aren't so bad because at least you can still view the posting plan and I do have reminders in my diary when to post & they are ticked off on the day). If Kantar need the extra confirmation every time a letter is late, that's the only way I can think of to be sure I'm giving them the correct info.
Does anyone else actually keep written records of everything they receive as well as what they send?
I write a note on the printed posting plan of the time and place of posting - I do that so that I can record it on the website at the end of the day - and I keep the sheets for a couple of weeks in case of query. (But I am also careful in completing on line and therefore there should be no problem - but I just wonder whether it always properly records the "today" or "yesterday" with the correct date.)
For received items, I don't keep a note at home of everything but do record the received information (R-number and date) if it looks as though things have been delayed. This is evident when there is a post-mark or franking but the RM insignia type are unknowable. I haven't bothered to record anything extra because of the current spate of strikes.

And, yes, I go to that amount of trouble because I don't think RM should be "let off" which is the case if either the poster or recipient do not confirm dates.

Sorry if it sounds like a dumb question, but does anyone know that if we have to post a packet, can we just put it in a postbox or do we have to go to a post office counter?

    Thanks

They just go into the box which is usually outside the PO unless it doesn't fit then give it to the staff member.

Just got an email to say RI have removed me from the active panel. I was doing it for about 5 months. I was an active member last year too for about six months - so I'm not surprised to receive this email. I'm fairly confident they'll ask me to participate sometime next year though.

Just got an email saying my services are no longer required too! It's the one that says they have too many people in the area ...

I've been doing it for 8 months so can't complain. Do they usually invite people back?

On 24 June I got an email from Research International asking if I wanted to join the "Royal Mail Monitor as a Private Panellist" as I'd previously expressed interest .. thanks to this forum! I replied immediately but haven't heard a thing since. I've emailed them twice since but still had no reply. This doesn't inspire confidence if the monitors can't run their own show efficiently.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Yes, me. Same date; same e-mail; same response; same result. :(
Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??
    :coffee:
  • Also the same result as myself...
