    So reading back it looks like faster payments do get to Newcastle but they are then being manually credited to the correct accounts using the reference numbers hence the delay in seeing them.

    If you use the application reference number then it will be done manually but if you use the proper account number then its automated. This is for any type of transaction - faster payments, BACS, CHAPS. They do pay interest on when they receive the funds and not when it appears in your account. So even though there are currently delays in the manual transfer to your account you wont loose out.

    There is usually quite an early cut-off for same day payments - with A&L it's 11.am.

    In reference to my post #453 the BACS transfer went through I made this Wedensday. Have confirmation on the investment card they sent today.
    The BACS payment was received same day (Faster Payment works).
    I can not fault the service I have received from the Newcastle BS so far.

    Last day to fund any extra payments to this account.

    A&L are absolutely useless, they charge £30 for CHAPS and I've been on phone to call centre last 2 days, fingers crossed its gone through but nothing is indicated online - Worst £30 I've ever spent lol

    after reading this thread again, i rang them to check that as my dd ( which i set make online at the time of application) doesnt leave my current account until 27th my money would be accepted.

    at first i was told today is the last date for credits, but after i stated their website states all credits made on application would be accepted, i was told mine would be accepted.

    so fingers crossed and ill keep an eye on monday

    Last day to fund any extra payments to this account.

    There does appear to be some confusion regarding this account and 'cut off' date.

    As far as i am concerned and the way i read it - today (24th) is the last day for the initial deposit i.e. opening the account.
    There is nothing to stop you from adding new funds to this account ongoing.

    ========================
    5 Year Fixed Rate ISA and Bond (Issue 1)

    All Online Applications submitted, will be honoured. Any Postal Applications and cheque investments must be received by close of business Friday 24th July. All ISA Transfer applications where funds are being transferred from other providers to the Newcastle will be accepted. Your current ISA provider does have 30 days from request to action this. Unfortunately no allowances can be made for interruptions in the Postal Service due to Industrial Action.

    From the Newscastle terms & conditions for the bond...

    5. After placing your Investment in the account you may make further deposits while the account is a current issue. The account is a limited issue and may be withdrawn at any time.
