A couple of faster payment made on Monday arrived today. So it looks like payments are still being accepted.
More to follow...
I have just made a further BACS transfer today so will wait and see if its accepted.
Worst that can happen is a few lost days of interest if the payment is returned.0 -
I know its all a bit late now but when i opened this account i got a reference no. on my confirmation email which i used to try and put £30k into the account. This was rejected.
Now the dd is set up in my account i notice the ref number is different. Is this normal or should i have used the dd ref number to start with (i am assuming its my account no.)
Anyhow this whole experience is very difficult for me to understand so i will keep all my money under my mattress from now on.
Any advice on this would be much appreciated.0 -

The application reference and the DD reference are not intended to be the same. The DD should be OK, not sure why the BACS failed though.0 -
Thanks anselld,
I can only think it was because it was i did it last friday and they said no top ups on an email they sent me. Yet on the phone they said it was fine.
I have tried again with the dd ref. to see if that works, doubt it will.
I will use the alliance savings at 3.15%, instant access at least. Just anoyed to miss the 5% rate.0 -

struggling here - ulster bank are point blank refusing to let me move more than 10k of my money per day to this a/c - any suggestions?
Do they definitely take faster payments? Do any of A&L, LTSB, Hfax or Citibank support Faster payments out?I think....0 -

Some more Faster Payments form Monday night came in today as well as some Monday BACS payments. A few payments are missing which I need to phone Newcastle about but AFAIK none have been rejected.
This is what I can see online so the payments may have gone in earlier but only show up later online.0 -

Why not use CHAPS or cheque? For the cheque you need to send next day guaranteed delivery.0 -
So reading back it looks like faster payments do get to Newcastle but they are then being manually credited to the correct accounts using the reference numbers hence the delay in seeing them.
In another thread someone said they had managed to get Ulsterbank to do a transfer for more than 10k so I left it till today but Ulster are not having any of it with meSo it looks like the most I will be able to get their in time is 20k from Ulster bank and a few dribs and drabs from other accounts that have funds - question is is it worth losing a months worth of interest on the entire UB balance to do this?
I think....0
