poss repeat post.
I applied for the Newcastle 5 year ISA at approx 2.10pm today 15th.
I got through the application and received a reference number. I now need to send in by post the Customer Acceptance ISA Transfer Form (I am transferring from
Abbey Direct ISA).
Does the reference number mean I can go ahead and send the form for
transferring the money
thanks

Can somebody clarify, please? There are two different replies here...I am in the same situation, applied online for Cash ISA and DD to be taken 28th July... Do I need to fund it before then or will I be O.K.?
Thanks0 -
Hi, as I understand it:
people who have funded their account by DD are okay.
People who chose to fund the account by other means (cheque/bacs/chaps) must make sure that the money is with Newcastle by 24th July.I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0 -

Hi, Tring to get this right first time.
As I said earlier I have got a reference number after applying online. I am funding the account by transferring existing ISA. Would this money arrive too late.
If so would it be possible to send cheque to open account with and top up with
transfer funds from the existing ISA.
Thanks..Stevepat0 -

well done! you got lucky there and got in without a moment to spare. that was some swift action on your part.
There may well be a better deal than this in a month or two, you never know what's around the corner. But certainly for me this came in the nick of time since my Halifax Guaranteed Saver and Regular Saver both mature tomorrow leaving me with £25k and no fall-back plan for the funds.
thanks to everyone on this forum for the indispensable and quick advice

I'm in the same position with my ISA. I'm fine paying in the new money before the 24th, however as understand it the transfer funds can take 30 days, and that is just the standard setup time. I think that part is in the hands of the BS and there's nothing to be concerned about. I'll call them for clarification once I've made my payment, but I don't see why there should be a problem since I did apply to have old ISAs transferred in when the application was accepted this morning..0 -

From the NBS website - all ISA's already opened and funded by ISA's transferred from other providers will be accepted.
