House prices +0.9% in June 2009
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8125728.stm
This board should hang its head in shame - this news has been on the BBC website for 26 minutes, and no one posts it up?! I remember the days when at 7.01am, four different posters would stick up the link and four different arguments would set off at a million miles an hour...
So, house prices then. Up and stuff. Indeed. Good news for some, bad news for others. Debate and that, etc.

... yes, the board was very different in those days. We had regular posters who became respected - many have now gone.... could be the nice weather?!!

"To be honest, MoM figures, up or down, are just noise"
"Remember that these are not seasonally adjusted"
"I think they are seasonlly adjusted"
"Sorry to be thick, but what does seasonally adjusted mean?"
"None of us actually know, but it's important"
"I'm going to post a graph"
"Your graph means nothing. Mine is better"
"I find that neither graphs represent my opinion"
"Timber"
"Has anyone seen that graph with despair, capitualtion etc.? Love that graph, someone post that"
"We're in a bull trap"
"What's a bull trap?"
"Spring bounce I reckon"
"It's obvious that unemployment will mean that house prices cannot stay at these levels. And the banks are just not lending"
"Bears won't be happy"
"What's a bear?"
"We're no where near what the average price should be"
"Ahh, but it depends what region you live in. I'm seeing repos with 40% off"
"Prices haven't even fallen in my area"
"Asking prices are still up, look at this idiot on Rightmove"
Right, hopefully that's saved a bit of time and we can save the same debate until July 2009. I really need to go to work now rather than typing this mindless rubbish...0 -

The board is pretty much dead, you have probably about 10 regular posters who basically post the same arguments from either side of the fence, it's a bit like going to the pub and chatting with your mates, except without the beer. Which I think is exactly what Martin wanted. Its pretty much becoming a website of hugz for mugz and 2 for 1 pizza offers.0 -
