    Martin,
I have noticed that more than 1/2 of your links come from forums and blogs. That is okay for traffic purposes but they won't help much because almost all of them are "nofollow"
Just google nofollow-you will see what I mean.
And while you are posting, be careful.Do it sparingly so that you don't spam message boards. There are 100s of free directories out there and subscribe to article distributor sites so that you can get links from articles. very short articles-300-400 words.
Lastly, the advice you have been given on modifying your key word is valid.

You see some people will search electrician in Leeds while others will search electrician in Leeds or Leeds electrician(s)

All these can be your key words.
As a test, this weekend when you go down to the pub-ask your mates to write down or tell you how they will search if they wanted an electrician. It will be a good eye-opener to you.

I am off computers until next week monday. Looking forward to Formular1 and I hope to see the union jack hoisted on the rostrum.cheers.

  • ok, so im now setting up my blog before getting the sites new refurbished pages up. im having a go myself and have wordpress uploaded to my host.

please can someone explain where i am going wrong with my html code. its probably an easy one for some guys but im guessing!

i am pinching bits of code as a test for my blog index page just for test purposes. the page is nowhere near complete and have cut and paste some text on it to see what it looks like. im trying to familiar myslef with basic hyperlink text. in a sentence, i would like several words like 'visit my homepage' and these will point to www.m-t-i.co.uk - my homepage.
please can anyone point me out my mistakes? probably by viewing properties of the 'attempted link'. its about a third way down page on http://m-t-i.co.uk/latestnews/ this page is not online/in sitemap yet so please follow this.

the word currently says 'site' and is shown as hyperlink.

    i have attempted to use:
    <a href=\"http://www.m-t-i.co.uk\&quot; class=\"text\"><u>site</u></a>.

this may now no longer be the exact true input as i have fiddled with it a few times but have tried several strings.

can anyone correct my text above? it would be massively appreciated!!!

god, this html lark aint easy! stick at what you know i suppose but hey - im having a go at my expense!....if its not broken, open it and have a look anyway :)

    Hi Martin,

    I'd have written

    <a href = http:/www.m-t-i.co.uk"> <u>site</u> </a>

See if that helps at all.
  • hi, thanks again angle! i have tried it but im still getting the page not found when i click link. the blog is in my main root directory, same as my homepage of main site. it does attempt to follow but says not found etc and offers you to follow the direct url that it auto types for you - www.m-t-i.co.uk

    im baffled completely!

Right I'm guessing here as I'm not entirely sure what you are trying to do, but could you try

    <a href= "index.php" <u>site</u></a>
  • Hi, thanks again for that. i have tried the <a href= "index.php" <u>site</u></a> however it appears that this is just refreshing the same page when i click it. this i think is because both my blog homepage and site homepage are index.php?

sorry for the delay in my response. kindest regards

Right I think I'm starting to understand the problem (possibly not as I'm only on my 2nd cup of coffee).
Your homepage and blog are in the same directory? Different folders?
  • Good morning angle! yes they are both index.php and in my main root in different folders. thanks
