They dont deliver to my area unfortunately
  • I just put my post code in that website and they don't deliver in my area, but my mum has a milkman come to her and she's just around the corner. I'd ask around and see if you can find someone you know who uses a milkman and they can pass on his details :)
  • I have a milkman, he delivers 5 days a week, on the day before a non delivery day it's doubled up. We get through 14 pints a week and costs us just over £8.

We do have a bit of a build up on the bill atm as our regular guy is on holiday and the stand in doesn't come round to collect.

It's milk from a local dairy who deliver their own, so supporting local business too.

It also saves me a fortune in not picking extra bits up when I pop to the shop for some milk.
Proud to be dealing with my debts

we use to get milk tokens for r son but after the tokens stoped we still carried on..I know its expensive and against money savers.. but I think its an old british tradition..and come rain ,sun or snow my pint of milk is always there...
ps I also get my milk mainly from farmfoods but dont tell him (whisper)

  • I've just started getting milk from a milkman and I think it's great.. I am on my own with two girls till feb as dh is working away, and I can't drive.. It's really nice when I'm feeling a bit poorly like last night.. At 8.30pm I could add 2 litres of orange juice to my order on the milk and more site and it was there this morning when I got up at 6.
I did a test order first of just the 1 pint to see if it would be there before we left for school and it was so I have carried it on, 1 pint on a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.. and I just need to get 2x4pints from my online tesco/asda delivery and that's us sorted :-)
  • I did on Tuesday I went to Icelands and bought 4 pints for £1.10, but then that lasts me for a week and my icelands is a three minute walk away from my front door as I live near a small presinct where there is
    an Icelands,
    tesco metro,
    a fresh butchers,
    a proper greengrocers
    a bakers
    cleaners
    cobblers
    a Wilkinsons,
    Boots
    two Lloyds
    a wet fish shop
    several banks
and for some reason about 4 cafes.
I am very lucky where I live but we researched it well before we moved here so that if in the future either my OH or I couldn't drive everything would be in walking distance.
I am also near to a bus stop and main line station, library and Doctors surgery. We wanted to make sure we covered every eventuality :):):) Not many milkmen around here because we are so close to the shopping centre.Rainham is the biz thats for sure

I rang one of the large milk companies about 6 weeks ago. Gave them my order and all was arranged for them to start delivering milk the following Monday. Monday came, but no milk, Tuesday and Wednesday came and still no milk. I rang them again on the Wednesday afternoon and was told they had no record of my order, so I had to give her all the details again. She said she'd get in touch with my local depot and they would ring me and arrange delivery - still nothing:(

I'm going to try Creamline this week and hopefully I'll have better luck with them.

I used to get 7 pints of milk delivered every week, but in the end i just couldn't afford it.It cost £8.25 and then i had to top up from the corner shop, so by the end of the week i had prob spent £10 alone just on milk. I used to pay the bill up front so no nasty surpises for me.

Unfortuntely a few months the bill went higher costing £8.99 for 7 pints of milk. Far too much for me, so i cancelled it. Now i do just end up buying from the local corner shop o supermarket.

Its depressing really, i used to feel really good buying straight from the dairy.

thats great that you're supporting a local business!:j

I've mantioned many times before that my DH is a milkman in a small local company - we live in the countryside so its an important service for a lot of elderly people. It is worrying that due to the current situation a lot of people will be looking to cut costs and may decide that their milkman is for the chop.
My DH is out at the crack of dawn in all weathers to provide a good service to his customers and I'd like to thank all those of you who remain loyal to their milkman:T:T:T

  • I have a milkman, he gives me fantastic service and the milk tastes delish. Far superior than supermarket, comes from Wells Farm I think Shropshire so it does a little bit of travelling to get to me but it's well worth it. I pay over the phone by debit card, they're spot on with my order and only slightly more expensive that the supermarket which when I factor in the cost of my time and petrol to get up to supermarket it's probably all even stevens in the end.

Tappers - good on your H for what he does :D
