People that have posted about driving in the slow lane at 60 on motorways/dual cariageways - do you not think you are in fact the cause of problem in the first place?. If you were driving at the motorway speed limit, the people that get frustrated at being held up day after day by these people, wouldn't be frustrated?.
    .

There is no " slow " lane anywhere in the country, nor for that matter is there any fast lane.

The amount of terrible drivers on our roads is absolutely shocking. It doesn't help that speedometers don't actually tell the speed you are traveling at but having to watch huge great lorries overtaking idiots pootling along the M6 at 50-60 mph every day kills me.

Anyone suggesting the drivers who break the speed limit cause delays is just plain wrong. It's the combined effect of people driving too slowly, dangerously slowly, that cause HGVs to have to overtake which causes middle lane drivers to overtake at 65 in the outside lane which causes anyone who has somewhere to go to get pretty peeved.

I don't undertake in this situation, it's not worth the possible points on my clean licence. I will sit behind them if the road ahead is clear and wait for them to pull over. In the Nissan Navara I currently drive people tend not to like me sitting behind them and it tends to work. I also make sure indicate around idiots who sit in the middle lane by driving up to them in the left lane, indicating and overtaking in the right lane, then indicating and moving back into the left lane. Often enough I see the cretin behind me then move into the left hand lane.

Anyway, as someone mentioned earlier, you have to "make progress" to pass your test today. This means traveling at the speed limit when safe to do so does it not? Unfortunately 70mph is normally at least 75 on your dashboard and when people sit at "70" it's usually 63. When it's "60" is usually 54.

And if you've ever been overtaken by a HGV on the motorway when not driving a limited vehicle you are driving dangerously and need to seriously buck your ideas up.

Finally, all the above is about motorways but driving a massive ammount under the speed limit at any time, conditions permitting, is a bad idea and makes life more dangerous for all around you.

what i would do is buy one of those dot matrix display strips that goes in the rear window of your car and program it to display a message of your choice to the land hogs - ill leave said message up to your imagination...
