I add plenty of garlic, smoked paprika, dried oregano, a bayleaf and a tin of tomatoes topped up with enough water to cover the veg and sausage.0

I like kidney beans in mine - they bulk out the meat and count to your 5-a-day
As this has fallen from the front page of OS, I'll add it to the existing thread, to give you more recipe ideas.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -
Do you normally do yours?
I haven't actually ever made one... My mum's has always been pretty much a in-gravy type thing...
I know I want to have onions in it... I've seen some recipes that call for chopped toms or passata, some with beans/some without, some use stock, some don't...
What works well for you and what would you suggest?

Hi Vampiric Addiction,
I usually use tinned tomatoes, onion, garlic, stock and any other veg that I have eg courgettes, carrots, peppers etc. These threads have lots of recipes that should show you how others make theirs:

Does anyone have a recipe for a simple sausage casserole I can make in the SC?
I'll add your thread to the first link later to keep the recipes and suggestions together.

Buy some good quality sausages from your butcher & brown them off.thinly slice two onions, take a third of the onion & fry till crisp, then lightly fry the others to soften them. Then cube & fry off some black pudding, drain the fat of these & set aside.
Bring some stock to the boil & add a handful of puy lentils & perl barley, simmer for around ten minutes then add the meat & onions, but not the crisped ones, as well as sliced or button mushrooms, sliced peppers garden peas & a squeeze of tomato puree.Season with salt & pepper to taste.
Simmer gently then add a desert spoonful of Guiness HP Sauce....(this really makes it yummy!!! I kid you not!! it's brill in Gravy or add to baked beans)
Serve with champ mash with the reserved fried onions on top & a pint of stout!

Sausages
tin tomatoes
tin baked beans
worcestershire sauce
red and green peppers
Brown sausages first. You could add onion or omit the peppers. Soften those then add all other ingredients.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0
