hi...i am being very frugal this week i have made our teas out of a chicken and a packet of sainsburys misshaped bacon...thats very ms if a bit boring...i havent spent any cash today which is good but need to spend some tomorrow on a birthday gift for ds little friend
i am planning on making a quiche for tea tomorrow (last bit of bacon) which i think we will have with chips and baked beans...i like hm quiche much more than shop...i think they taste falsely cheesey iykwim...quiche is fab for using up bits and bobs too
on a non gc front i decided to pop into ds school today and brave the very vile lost property dustbin to see if i could retrieve any of ds lost lunchboxes jumpers jacket sports kit....while i was rooting at least 6 teachers walked past and told me they were donating it all to the air ambulance tomorrow and help myself to anything that would be useful....so i got all my stuff back and a spare jumper and sweatshirt that ds can use in emergencies in sept for free(new both would have been £25) so it might be worth popping in to schools to see if they are doing the same
take care

TheBees are keeping on track and sticking to the menu plan more or less.
Tonight we had chicken pie made from leftover roast chicken mixed with a bit of sweetcorn and cream of chicken soup and pastry on top. Nice and quick and easy. :j Had to send DH to the local shop for some chicken gravy and annoyed that it wasn't written on the "Things to Buy" list when things run out.

Morning all!
Have almost succeeded at using up the entire contents of the freezer - we've had some odd combinations this week though!
I'm off to Mr T's later to get some bits to take on holiday with us to start us off - bread, milk, eggs, bacon, cheese, squash, dog food etc - am hope to spend less than £20. We'll see!
I will also make a batch of Twinks tonight if I get time to have as nibbles.
We're off on Saturday morning so only 2 more days of weird teas to go!
I'm going to defrost the freezer and turn it off whilst we're away and then do a mega shop when we get back to fill it all up again!
Have a good day!0 -
Just popped down to the village shop to get some milk so have added 98p to my total. I have just about £100 to last till the end of this month. It will be tough but I have meat in the freezer and we survived this week on leftovers and odds and ends found in the freezer.
Meant to say yesterday that I bought the Sainsbury's Basics mozarella cheese for my pizza which cost 47p for 125gms. I haven't used this before and although it is made from cow's milk and not the traditional buffalo milk it seemed perfectly fine to me and about half the price of the stuff I normally buy!
I was worried that with only £100 left I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the Ocado 15% off voucher as you need to spend £60 minimum to get the discount. However, I am relieved to find that it lasts until 31st August so I am saving it for my first big shop of the new month.
I won't need to do a shop this week as DH has arranged a weekend away on the spur of the moment (most unlike him!) though I don't think the weather on the south coast is going to be up to much - never mind , at least I won't be doing any cooking.
Off to the surgery now for his blood test! Will catch up later.

Another £35 gone to Aldi. I am desperately trying to keep on target. We have some cabbage and lettuce ready to pick in the garden, and the blackcurrants are almost ripe. With the eggs from the hens and maybe some tiny potatoes from my buckets we can have a few 'free' meals.business mortgage £0))''(+ Barclay's business kitchen loan £0=Total paid off was £96105 PPI claimed and received £13527

Hi everyone
Need to update my sig, spent £40.22 on stuff from MrT and I don't think I'm gonna be able to do it this month [the budget!] as we are getting married this weekend and then the kids are off school from 17.07 and I hadn't accounted for either of those things and OH is also off for the summer hols [he works in a school] and I hadn't accounted for that either.
Gonna try to reign it in as much aspossible but we've just had a big freezer delivered so need to shop for that now - Its all going pearshaped here
