... Pudding will be Chocolate Yogurt Cake, had some yoghurt left from Curry the other night so thought I'd use it up - I know I copied the recipe from here but now I can't find the link
so if anyone can put it on here then please do, otherwise if anyone wants the recipe then I'll type it on here.;)
scotsaver, was it from the most excellent MBE's chocolate yoghurt cake thread?... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Just updating signature as I went to Aldi for some grapes x 3 lots, nectarines x 2 lots, bananas (53p), bread & milk. Total spend of £5.68 :T The grapes particularly are a brilliant buy especially the way DS2 & DS3 go through them  I might even get to eat some of this lot if I'm lucky
I'm not planning on spending anything else over the weekend & I'm doing my best to keep DH out of the shops. He has a habit of picking up things like crumpets, scotch pancakes & cream cakes. All very nice but when I'm trying to keep everything down it sometimes bugs me a bit IYSWIM? Like many others on here I wonder why I prepare such a detailed list etc for the budget to be blown.

Boodle, I understand what you mean, we spend ages planning healthy meals that don't cost the earth and then our OH's come along and buy a few "treats/essentials" that we hadn't budgeted for... It really annoys me.***Dont save what is left after spending, spend what is left after saving***0

Morning all, hope everyone is ok
Spent another £14 yesterday at Asda on things i forgot when i went on Tues plus some chocolate mufins but lets not talk about that!Other than that i stuck to my list.
Tea tonight is spaghetti carbonara with garlic bread (which DH is cooking so i get a lovely meal cooked for me then get the task of cleaning the bombsite he's left behind lol), the bread is on offer atm in Asda, 3 baguettes for £1 so they're good to have in the freezer. I've also got tomatoes and veggies plus herbs, lea and perrins etc in the slow cooker which i'll blitz up into a pasta/pizza sauce to freeze in portions in preparation for the school hols for quick meals. I freeze some in ice cube trays - a few cubes are enough to spread on a couple of pittas to make pitta pizzas for the kids dinners.
Also after reading the thread about freezing i'm going to chop up all the mushrooms and peppers i have to freeze and use in bolognese/chilli etc at a later date, i've always frozen peppers but wasn't too sure about mushrooms. Will give it a go now!
Have a great weekend everyone!

Hello everyone
I've not been around much/at all this month so far. It's the holidays in Scotland so am flying by the seat of my pants childcare-wise, moneywise, marriage-wise, temper and nerve-wise
Normally I work ten hour days and DH is nightshift. As it's the holidays I have to take work home to faciliate me leaving at 5. I have to leave at 5 because DH gets in at half six in the morning, DS gets up, DH has to get up, I get home, DH goes back to bed. I feel sorry-est for him because he's sleeping in instalments. Hey ho, it has to be done.
I really need to plan for dinners because that's been a bit of a riot but with the weather so nice my stalwart 101 things with mince is just not working for me:rotfl:
I think I've spent £138 so far this month (had DS birthday too so that included picnic stuff twice and bbq stuff once). I've unfortunately not been able to do packed lunches for myself because I don't want to make a noise in the morning to waken DS so I wash and dry my hair behind a closed kitchen door and sneak out.
Sorry for the long post but I've not posted all month and I feel like by not being on here it's getting me OUT of the habit which is a dangerous thing.
I'm going back to read some posts now. I apologise of something terrible is happening back there and I look unfeeling with my self absorbed postGrocery Challenge M: £450/£425.08 A: £400/£.May -£400/£361 June £380/£230 (pages 18 & 27 explain)0 -
Hi Guys,
Am a bit new to all this. got alot of debt so trying to cut back on weekly food shopping. There are 3 of us and 1 dog. OH is allergic to cheese and only likes prawns, 12 yr old and myself love any fish and cheese. love all meats. I am struggling to feed us all on less that £25 a week! I have just read a post where some of you are feeding a family of 4 for about £20 a month! So my question is, how do you really do it?? I have been doing a weekly meal plan now for about a month, and still cant get my bill down especially when I have to include packed lunch stuff. my bill for main meals for 7 days is still quite big compared to a lot of you out there. I feel that I really need some expert advice from all your old stylers out there!:D
Please help me be a better, wiser shopper! thanks xLBM: April 2009 - honest debt figure: Secured: £0.00!! (paid back april 2017) unsecured: £53117.48 (roughly) back with CCCS starting again:(0 -
