I use Delia's recipe too, but I leave the egg out. I don't bother with pastry crosses, just cut crosses0

You and I have an awful lot in common, although I do put the egg in :rotfl: :rotfl:0

It's because of the DD, she throws up if she eats egg in any form  . I reckon it's there to enrich rather than add anything to the structure of the bun - anyway it's always worked for me

Or at least I might if I had time. Sorry, I'll have to buy some.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I could have sent you some if you had said:D
Got distracted yesterday by sons wittering, and instead of doubling the recipe to end up with the 24 I wanted, the dough wouldn't progress beyond slurry  After reviewing matters it dawned on me that I had quadrupled the recipe liquidso had to add another double quantity of everything else, and ended up with 48 :rotfl: :rotfl:
DH demanded to know if I was opening a bakery when he got home, as there were 18 rolls as well0 -

Good job you can freeze 'em! :rotfl:If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -

Mrbadexample, have you got a spy camera trained on me?
There are about 18 in the freezer, but the rest are disappearing at a truly alarming rate. I think there were about 7 left last time I wandered through the kitchen. I hope this doesn't mean that I have to make 48 each year in future because it got a tad manic turning the baking sheets around quickly to get the next batch in the oven.
