not much to add really other than - DD - we will never judge you - I think you are really lovely and please - just keep talking - it's amazing how writing it all down really does help. I was a bit sad when I saw on your FB profile you had been down here for a holiday - I would have liked to have met you just to say 'hi'.

You all know my struggles with life a couple of years ago and I was in a pretty dark place but here I am still am boring you with my trials and tribulations of my OH and my incessant ramblings about my child substitute dog!! :rotfl: (it's his birthday tomorrow - and yes, I have bought him a present :rotfl: :D )

Bookie - at times, life is scary :( But if you can just keep taking tiny steps forward - even if the steps are so small you don't think there is any real difference, you'll wake up one morning and think - actually - I am getting somewhere here.

Toto -you are such a beautiful (both physically and emotionally) woman and I am looking forward to meeting you and the kids so much - I was only just thinking about it in the car a couple of minutes ago. xxx

Toto, your writing is beautiful, and i have been following your blog. Have you thought of writing a book about your life with Fragile X?

it's bad enough I bore you lot with my ups and downs, I can't imagine anyone would want to pay for the privilege. I dunno, maybe one day when I'm old and grey I'll do my memoirs :)

Toto, have you got your pc sorted?

No, it's sitting here all dead. I'm using this old laptop at the moment. I'm going to get it sent back to Sony. I spoke to hubby last night though and he said we could remove the hard drive and get the stuff off it (if it's not fried). He said that it might come back from Sony wiped.

I'm not sure what to do really. I don't want to lose the work I have done (there is some music I've written on there, not backed up... fool) but on the other hand I don't want to invalidate the warranty.

Have you asked on the techie board because I am sure there is a way you can acess the dirve without actually phsically removing the drive :o Other than that could you phone Sony and explain and ask them to save any data on the hard drive before fixing it? They may charge you though because some other companys do but its better than losing all your stuff.
  • DD, please don't sit there thinking you are some kind of outsider, You are not AT ALL. We are all friends, I mean sometimes I feel a bit silly cos I don't have kids, can't really talk clearly about work and don't run or really these days even post that often. But i know when everything goes to hell there are people here who care about me.

And the same goes for you, we wonder were you are if you don't post and we are all routing for you

    Many hugs xxxxxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

I haven't asked on the techie board yet. The thing is I wouldn't have a clue what they were on about even if they told me what to do. Hubby is home tonight though until Tuesday so I will get him to see what's what with it. He's a bit more computer savvy when it comes to the internal gubbins than me.

I would rather lose £2000 of computer than the work on it though, hopefully the work will be worth more than that, there is almost a whole album of tunes on it and even if only one tune sells it will be more valuable than the computer. So, it's not something I trust myself with dealing with.

So, I am passing the responsibility to him so I can beat him around the ears if it all goes wrong :rotfl:and yes I have heard 'what have we learned?' a number of times over the past 18 hours :D

Toto - you write beautifully and should consider that book.

DD - you have been through an awful lot. Keep posting but most of all - go to the Doctors. PLEASE!

Church was hard this morning. The minister whose wife is dying with leukaemia wnet home in tears before we started because she is so weak and he felt that he couldn't cope with the hymns and service content. It was all about trust and God's will and the hereafter. The sermon was lovely but talked about people losing there job and being repossessed. Can't explain it all but it made be have a discreet (I hope) weep. I've not told many people at church about my problems yet.

I'm not much of a religious person bookie and in many ways I am envious of those who do have faith. I guess, like most people, I have a quick prey when I need to, you know,'please god can this happen/not happen' And when things are rough I stick 'Jesus take the wheel' in the CD player and sing along meaning every word. I tell myself it's a beautifully written song with a fantastic arrangement. But, really, I love the words.

I hope that today's sermon and seeing how the poor vicar is having to cope with loss helped you lots with moving on to the next stage in your life. God clearly had a will today for you to hear what was said and maybe it is your proof that he does 'have your wheel'.
