So glad you asked the question - I've got 15 of them in my house and some of them are huge. Would love to replace them but the expense will be enormous.
Look forward to the repliesMortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0 -
My blinds are starting to collect quite an impressive amount of dust.
I was interested to find out if there was any advice on the best way to clean them. Was hoping there woul dbe a magic solution instead of standing there dusting each wood strip at a time. My whole house has blinds arrrggghhh!!!No Unapproved or Personal links in signatures please - FT30 -
Hi JuliaV,
There's an older thread that should help so I've merged your thread with it to keep all the suggestions together.

I agree with Owens or is that concur with Owens...
LOL
It's a bit of a bummer but there really is no easy way to clean metalic blinds. A damp cloth or damp cotton gloved finger over all the slats is the only way.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
Wear old socks on both your hands (damp as necessary) and run them on the blinds. Makes cleaning them that little bit quicker. Those bits where the catches and strings etc are, can be cleaned with an old brush.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

hover and a paint brush works well for dustLets get this straight. Say my house is worth £100K, it drops £20K and I complain but I should not complain when I actually pay £200K via a mortgage:rolleyes:0

I was talking to a friend about my blinds last week and she suggested cleaning them with methalated spirit. Well, this morning i ripped up an old pillowcase and took just a very small piece, poured the meths on it and wiped each slat. Its come up brilliant, like new, got rid of all the marks easily that fly`s left.
Did`nt take me long either.:T0 -
That's great - I love a simple and quick solution :j
I'll add this to your original question to keep suggestions together.
