Well have really hollow feeling (DD has had a bug so not sure if I have mild symptoms of that) so I ate when I wasn't really hungry yesterday.
H is fed up with his job (more to the point with people where he works). They are such a bunch of back stabbers and every time he's off work its as if they decide to get the wooden spoons out and start stirring. It makes me stressed as he's our sole earner and I feel that because I've given up work to be a childminder he's trapped in his job as we couldn't afford mortgage bills on the little bit I am earning at the moment. Just wish we could jack everything in and go and do something else instead.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Hi everyone.
SM - Congratulations on a wonderful weightloss, well done!
Bitsy - I'm sending hugs your way.
Please don't undervalue yourself, it'll just make you feel more stressed. I can see why you feel that way, but your H is not 'the sole wage earner', you are too, even if you aren't bringing in much money - you're still having to work. Also you are having to look after 2 young children - that's a job in itself - it's no coincidence that people who are rich enough often hire nannys!
I'm sorry your H is having such a bad time at work - it's horrible when it's down to your co-workers. I'm really not enjoying my work, but the only part that's keeping it bearable is my co-workers. I assume he's looking for other jobs? If you can, try drawing up (perhaps not literally!) an action (escape!)plan - how long he'll keep looking for another job, what your alternatives are if he doesn't get one by that time - can he retrain/are there any evening classes etc. he could take to make his cv look better, worst case scenario - are you able to take/find a different job if he hasn't found something in x amount of time...etc?
I'm not saying that you should do any of this, or that this is necessarily the way to go - I just know that having 'an escape plan' has helped my husband and I out several times when things look bleak. In fact, my husband was made redundant shortly after I had my daughter - at the time he was a chef - and by the time it came to me returning to work, he still wasn't working. I really was feeling panicky then, but we managed to come up with a plan whereby he looked after our daughter at home for 6 months, instead of putting her in childcare, and then the following September he started a degree course in Computing. We were actually no worse off with him as a student, then when he worked! He's now got a computing job....
Anyway, apologies for the long post, I hope I've managed to say something positive in my ramblings!Working hard in the hopes of being 'lucky'

Hello ladies, I hope you don't mind me joining in, with me its not so much a case of the baby weight (I was lucky had such bad morning sickness weighed less after each of my dc) Anyway, went on the depo injection in September last year to ensure there were no more babies on the way and have put a considerable amount of weight on which is making me pretty unhappy - so lets start. Any ideas you can share whilst I trawl through the rest of this thread would be very much appreciated. Thank you xxMotto: You gotta be in it to win it!:j

Hi fabulous mummies, since 1 July I'm also on the Banish the Babyweight Forever quest...although tonight is my anniversary so I'm eating and drinking whatever I want. I also don't own a scale but have a persistent jigglebelly which I would like to flatten, also my brastraps give me a little backfat
When I weighed over 180 lbs (and I'm 5'1" so very short!) I finally decided enough was enough and went on the Dr. Cohen's First Personal Diet. I am in no way connected with them, just saying it really worked for me and several of my friends! It is hard, you have to be really really motivated and just sick and tired of being sick and tired. If you are interested just google it. It does cost for a plan and you have to get a blood test, then you get a personal plan for you. It's restrictive but you cook real food and after the first week, the portions are plenty. (The first week is hard, I'll just be honest. Like I say you have to be very motivated, but I found since I had paid for it, I was motivated to make it worth it!) You weigh all of your portions, and the meals consist of lean protein and veggies. You may have some fruit and wholegrain crackers for snacks. You supposedly get support via e-mail but generally I didn't find it very useful. Therefore a forum like this is perfect!
Also since I hate going to the gym I'm trying to do 10,000 steps a day and using my step counter.
So looking forward to reading everyone's posts and motivating each other. Feeling peckish now, time for an apple!
