I actually had a lie in today, don't start work till 12, makes a change from 7.30, i hate getting up early. Just played my butlins bingo bonus and won £15, so that's a good start to the morning, just withdraw it so thats good. Lets hope i get another few wins in the 14 days of have left of this bonus, shame i have to go on holiday really and miss the other 10 days, may ask my sister to play for me, shame to let the bonus everyday go to waste.
Off to do a few things then get ready for work, listening to the new Cheryl Cole album whilst doing the washing, its a good sunny morning :j:j

Well thats another weekend over, where did it go?! OH and I were at friends all day Saturday who cooked a lovely meal, didn't manage a NSD tho as bought our friends chocolates as she's pregnant at the mo so didn't want to bring a bottle over when she can't drink. Then Sunday we went to Portsmouth to visit family, and had a nice carvery lunch yum! Then visited the outlet shopping place they have there as OH still needed a suit for the wedding on holiday. OH is best man so had to look for a very particular suit, which we found and it was bargain. A lovely suit from Suits You, with 2 very nice white shirts, and a nice tie, all for £146, we budgeted for £300 so happy days! So OH treated his mum and I to a nice Costa coffee and cake to warm us up! So i think Sunday was a NSD, oh i tell a lie, i gave £2 for the parking.
Yesterday wansn't a brilliant day, not driven my car for a week because some horrible kid no doubt broke my right wingmirror, i didn't fancy driving it whilst it was like that, so ordered a new one online for £20 which was reasonable, however yesterday morning i decided i'd give OH a lift to the station, and it started making these funny juddering noises and had loss of power when pulling away, and the engine light started flashing, i carried on driving it as just thought it was because it had been sitting there for the week and needed to warm up, i just about made it to the station without breaking down, it was getting back which was the issue, you would stop and it was stall and not start again  all i could think was god the engine had gone and how much it was going to cost, my poor OH had to hang about and nearly miss his traina to try and get me going again, luckily it started again but sounded like a tractor. OH looked at it last night and the oil was below minimum, so we bought some from Halfords, so put some more in and OH took it out for a test, it seemed to work fine apart from an odd noise which i'd never noticed before, the engine flashing light didn't come on at all, so not sure what the problem was yesterday morning. I will leave it again today and we will try it again tonight. I've looked at a few things online and some people have said its possibly the coil, or the leads, but i dunno. I want to sell it anyways as i would like to get a Mini, so really i'd like to get it sorted and sell it. I only paid £1,500 for it so if i did go get it checked out wouldn't want to pay silly money as its just not worth it. THinking about registering with AA just in case i did take it out and break down. Looked via Quidco and could get full cover for £96, then take away £42 for going thru Quidco, so £50 for full cover isn't bad i think. Going to see what OH says tonight, weather to take it in for them to look at, then contact OH to tell him what's wrong before going ahead with the repairs, then decide from there. Praying its nothing serious, don't want to pay silly money to get it fixed.
On the brightside, i won £58 on bingo this morning. I played through my free £5 and won £10, so decided to play that thru on the slots, and won £58 :j so just withdrawn that as that will go towards the fixing of the car
Just about to play the remaining £2.60 i have left.
9 days and counting till holiday :j:j:j:j:jThe very best things in life ... are free!

Morning Hayles, mine has done something similar to that before. I was visiting a friend and stopped up a hill and wouldn't go and made an awful tractor sound. It just seemed to sort itself out though. I drov it a couple of weeks ago and it was really shakey, which it seems to do when it is cold or wet. My Dad changed the spark leads and it has worked a lot better since even in the rain. Not saying it will solve your problem but might be worth a look at. What car is it?
WEll done on the slots win as well, that is brilliant!0 -
Morning Wendz, the car is a Ford KA (54 reg) i looked online and people have said that, it could be the spark leads, or something as simple as that. Panicking a bit though that its something more serious. We will check it tonight, if its still acting a bit weird i may book it into a garage just so they can have a look, just don't want them turning around and giving me a whole list of problems. It was fine before i left it for the week. I'm going to hunt down that kid who broke my wingmirror.
Thanks chick, thats my 2nd win of £55 on the slots in the last week. I like winning free money on the bingo then playing it on the slots, just because you can't withdraw with the amount you normally win on bingo, small amounts, so always risk it and go on the slots in the hope i win over £20 to withdraw.

Well not having much luck with the car. I signed up to AA breakdown cover the other day for £68, but get £21 back from Quidco so thought that was a good deal. My OH called the AA out today to have a quick look at the car and the bloke we got was good as gold, he looked at the coil, and thought it was that to begin with, but changed it but did nothing, then my OH went to Halfords with the guy and bought spark leads, and some leads to replace them, OH is just sorting that out now, but if its not the leads then will have to go in for a proper diognostic test, which is cost money, and then money to fix the problem. The AA guy also said the car needs a new exhaust, which will cost £300+ so lots of expense coming up for a car which only cost £1,500 :mad: I'm praying its the leads, if not then its gonna be costly i can sense it.
OH has got his mate round tonight, so its a Dominos for dinner, and doing things to get ready for holiday whilst they do guy things, PS3 etc, fun! lol, least it gives me a chance to go through the spare room and sort the cases for Thursday. We have both got bags of brand new clothes, and it all needs ironing. My favourite job...NOT!
Tomo OH and I are going to go cinema we think, not been in months, and we do like spending Sunday evenings watching a good movie at the cinema and going for a meal beforehand, probably Pizza Express if they have a voucher online, will check that in a bit.
I had my hair cut and coloured today ready for the holiday, cost £90 but i needed a full head of highlights.
Some good news, by the end of November i will of done 50 hours overtime this month, which is an extra £700 in Decembers pay packet, which is nice as we get that before Christmas, so will pay for Christmas pressies and hopefully the car repairs.
Not more wins from BB lately, but i've had £120 from them in one week so i'm happy
X Factor night tonight, just a shame i have to watch it on the small tv in the kitchen because of the guys. Boohoo! I do like watching it on our 42 inch plasma

Oh that sucks about your car hope you get it sorted soon. If it judders with not much power and sounds like a tractor like wendz said hers did, that normally means its misfiring which means you need new spark plugs. So hopefully the plugs and leads your OH bought will cure it. £1500 for a 54 plate KA sounds like a bargin you got there!!!
Your AA man should have put it on his diognostics for you!
Is it the whole exhuast system that needs replacing? It might just be the back box which would only be around £50-80.
MMMMMMMMMMMM, domino's! I havent had dominos for about 2 months now and i crave domino's every night!!! Supermarket pizza's do nothing for me as they dont have the nice crust and garlic & herb dip. Ive bought garlic & herb sauce from asda before but it doesnt taste anything like dominos! lol
Well done on all that overtime you done! £700 extra is fantastic!!!Make £5 a day JAN £121/175 FEB £283/175:jWeekly Grocery budget of £35! Jan £95.05/175 Feb £37.53/1750 -
Mine seems to be a lot better since we got the new spark leads so hope yours is better too. That is annoying about the exhaust, cars are so expensive!
That is brilliant on all the overtime you have done, at least that will help with some of the costs.0 -
Yeah thats exactly what its doing Maria, silly halfords have messed up with the leads so we have to go SE London tomorrow to get them now, otherwise will have to wait till next week. If OH can't fit the leads tomo with his mate the AA man has given us his mob number and has said we can call him if we need any help fitting them as he only lives down the road. He's also given us details of a local garage who are really good and much cheaper than the big name garages, he's not meant to give out details as he's meant to recommend garages AA says, so we're really grateful for all his help. I don't think he had a diognostics test, as said we would need to take it to a gargae for that.
We think its the whole exhaust which needs replacing, but I'm hoping its not and just the back box like you have said. I really don't want to have to spend nearly £1,000 on the car when i want to sell if for a mini at the beginning of next year. I'm knackered from all the extra hours but the extra money wil be nice, especially when you need to buy xmas pressies and pay for car repairs.
OH has just been to Tesco's and got some beers and bits for later, he also got me a bottle of Rose Blush so that'll be drunk during X Factor

It wasn't the spark leads Wendz, they bought some new one's but didn't do much unfortunately, we are just waiting to get the hdmi cables now, and fingers crossed they will fix the problem.
I was hoping to use some of the overtime money towards the Mini, oh well.., things always go wrong when we want to sell the thing.
