An interesting point but I checked with my friend in Tennessee and he confirmed that he has Broadband. The difference in cost is astounding!

Same here, price hike of 80%. Rang them up, got offered £9.99 for three months then £15.99, but they made a point of saying that confirmation email would not mention price reduction!

Very strange, will stick with AOL for the moment but have requested MAC code so that I can decide for the long term

Do any of you that were faced with the price hike already have AOL Talk or did they offer that as an option to keep your low price?

I have AOL talk and have not had the dreaded email (so far...).I pay £9.99 and have the talk package. I am happy with the Talk package as its costs nothing extra and gives me free calls to UK landlines at any time of the day. Other calls e.g. 0845 and my few calls to mobiles just add a £ or two a month.
