AOL Price Increase

Thanks OP just checked my AOL mail which i never do
Got the dreaded email thats quite a hike, the only other choice may be Talk Talk for me they have just unbundled my exchange
Anyone tried cancelations department ?
Oh just a word of warning when you ask for your MAC code be careful they dont cut you off like they did with me the other month when i was considering leaving and asked for the code.0 -
Just got off the phone to them, they tried to sign me up to the talk package and then stay at £9.99 a month, i told them i was still in contract with BT for another 8 months, its only 1 , anyway they have held the £9.99 price for another 3 months, at least this gives me time to move elsewhere.
I suggest others do the same as the price increase isnt very far away, they said the increase was because of the new BT charges , not sure how true that is but surely its not £8 per customer a month0 -

I have Sky & Talk Talk, can I get it free?
I complained to AOL & they put it back to £9.99 for 3 months.
Gives me three months to find another.
I did try recently, but I can't get most of them0 -
Congratulations, you are in a broadband enabled area.
Click here to compare packages available to you.
However, there is another service on your phone line (e.g. ADSL, LLU, DACS, etc) that would prevent you from ordering a new ADSL connection.
The following services are available in your location:
BT Wholesale ADSL
BT Wholesale ADSL Max
What does this mean?0 -
Means you have no LLU providor in your exchange so cheap deals will be harder to find0

I have also had the dreaded email, can't believe they can get away with such a huge increase. I see many of you talking about getting a MAC code before leaving AOL, don't mean to be thick but what is this and why do I need it?
Thanks.
I had looked into getting broadband with my Orange mobile but the reception is poor at home so this is a no no, not sure really who to try, am already annoyed with BT regarding my phone rental charges, they have just had 4 months rental on 1 bill because they wanted to bring it in line with the bill date. Why is it that we as customers have no rights?0 -
A MAC code is given to the new ISP you want to go to, it means a smooth transition and possible down time of about an hour, if you cancell then you can be without broadband for up to 10 days so using a MAC code is the best way0

I can't get cable (Virgin) either.
What are my options?
Am I stuck with AOL or BT?
No you can go with any providor that uses a BT line , have a look at the link and put in your postcode and telphone number to see your options
