Did you have to negotiate that? or did they cave in quite quickly?
  • I just called to cancel hoping to get free HD but she only offered me £5 off my bill for 6 mths. We have top package with multiroom so ended up going thru cancellation(which i don't want!!) Wll i get an offer before the cancellation period is up or will i have to call back to reinstate?
    thanks

    1) Sky Sports 1 (weekend Premier League/No Champions League or SPL) + HD = £31.50 per month + £9.75 monthly HD fee + £29 HD Box + £30 installation fee.

How does that work then ? Are Sky not showing Sky Sports 1 to show their CL coverage next season ? Or will you blocked from watching Sky Sports 1 in midweek ?

Tried yesterday for the free HD box and free install.
I think that I was pushing my luck, as only a year ago I got the sky + free.
The chap was polite but not available to offer me any deals at this time, his words not mine.
So I cancelled and now on my 31 days notice, will see what happens in a couple of weeks, whether they try to keep me or not.

We've been sky customers since dinasaurs roamed.

We bought HD when it came out for the living room, moved the plus box we bought when it came out into our bedroom & have a box in DDs room.

Asked for another + box for DDs room, we are on a waiting list........

I guess its because newcommers get sorted out first.

    Hi
We upgraded to sky hd via a deal on this website last August. Since the new HD box has been installed we've had buzzing from the box and about 5/6 complete freezes where any programmes you were due to record show a power failure.

The box was 11 months old so we asked an engineer to call. They changed the box without a problem but mentioned that the HD boxes still have some associated problems that are not sorted yet.

The new box has started playing up now and sometimes it says no signal is available. This is not due to bad weather or storms as the last time it happened we had clear blue skies. You can usually get channels 101, 102,103 and sometimes 104 at this time.

I will monitor the situation but might go back to normal sky plus. We've had the old sky plus box for years and its now used as the multi room box and never had a problem (touch wood) but we've now had two sky plus boxes within the space of 11 months with problems. I'm debating whether to cancel Sky HD when the contract expires on 4 Aug and then go back to the full package. At the moment we have sports and a few other packages.
