Thanks Loopylass - we had a great time, spent a fortune and had to buy extra luggage to bring it all home :rotfl:

Good luck Lindsay - maybe all the running around and being good before that will help you out. Fingers crossed.

Back on the plan today as I have to shift what i put on while I was away (and some!). Can anyone confirm if Oats so simple is free on a green SW day  I know you can have it as healthy extra but I think I can remember someone saying it was free

I'm slightly concerned about your meal plan for tomorrow. I am assuming you are having a green day? It's a great meal plan but there are no "a" or "b" sections involved. It is very important to have these as this is where you get your daily requirements.

You see this sounds so like what I have as a typical day (although i tend to have bran flakes/oats so simple for breakfast). Am I not making the most of what I could have? I do have milk and often bread to make up healthy extras. Should I be doing something different? Whilst I have lost a stone so far it has been v slow - it came of v quick in the first few weeks when I did seem to be eating more - although I am aware it was mainly water in the first week.

Oatso simple (original, 27g) is 5 syns on a green day.

Or oatso simple (original, 27g) plus 1 oat/scan bran is one B choice HE.

I've considered whether you really need the HEs to lose weight or whether they are just to provide nutrition (which is important obviously but does it really aird weight loss?). I keep meaning to try one week without HEs or syns and then one week with all syns and HEs or maybe a week with all HEs but only 5syns a day to see what works. It's so hard to measure though as your body does its own thing depending on hormones so you have to factor that in as well!!

Either way i love bread and cheese thus doubt that i'd manage without the HEs so if it benefits my health and/or weight loss then it's all good!

Lois Lane - how is the GI diet going? Getting results?

I go to a rosemary conley class but can't stick with her diet so am doing the Slimming world plan instead for now. Are you attending classes too?

Incidentally - i think i may be getting through 5kg of potatoes a week on SW chips :o. Curiously morrisons seem to be encouraging me to consume that much by now having 5kg bags of maris pipers on sale instead of 2.5 bags. 5kg is alot of potatos.

Hi everyone. Hope you are all having a good day.

Hope you have a good weigh in cheekymole.

Hi Honey :hello: re your Oatso simple, it is really expensive as it is really just oats (as we are on MSE after all!) a massive bag of oats is so cheap. Also they are not processed etc so maybe you could have more for your choice? You would obviously just have to weigh it out. Those Oatsosimple sachets are so tiny they would never keep me full :o

Also, you could try raw porridge. Put oats, skimmed milk, grated apple in a dish over night in the fridge. In the morning mix in chopped banana and strawberries and I have a bit of honey or some nuts if I am feeling posh. It is very nice.

I agree about the price. I only have them at work a few times a week as they are easy to make in the microwave - you measure your milk into the packet that the oats come out of so that bits covered - at home I have the real mccoy!

The sachets of Oats so simple are the recommended weighed allowance (28g I think)for the Healthy extra - so watch your porridge portions if you are following SW ;)
