I think i might make this as its something me and my boys would eat, i always have red days as im not a gr8 pasta lover, but i think i could now be teempted 2 try a green day.

Bit dubious about this quorn stuff tho, what exactly is it and what does it taste like ? it seems really popular but ive yet 2 try it

If you are a meat eater then I am told that Quorn tastes okay as long as it is flavoured by something else, like you have a quorn curry or spag bol or something - on its own it doesnt have a lot of flavour but personally i think its quite nice - the sausages come in all sorts of flavours now, i just had the 'bangers' which had a peppery taste and got cumberland and an apple one too to try....

I am not liking my new scales at all... since I bought them and tried them out at about 6pm they are saying I have put on 3lbs!! that is just silly! I know I have had wine and sausages and eggs but surely thats not right!!! whats my true weight then!!?? Maybe I will have to take em back and complain I weigh too much on them??? :rotfl:

  • Loopylass, as a veggie, I really like Quorn. Some of the packs are pretty cheap (£1.50 to £2) so just try one of the products that you fancy the most and see how you get on! Beware of the Quorn in breadcrumbs though, or the ones with added cheese, or the pies - these will have syn values that you can check on the SW website. The deli slices, sausages, chunks and mince are all free though. They do a really nice Brussels-style pate with red wine, but this is about 7 or 8 syns per pot, so go carefully! See the Quorn and Quorn for Life websites for more info, and remember to keep your receipts if you like it, and claim some money off vouchers!

Rachie, I know what you mean about the digital scales - my mum got me some for Xmas and I never really trust them! I stick to weighing myself weekly at the same time of day (you weigh less in the morning, heh heh). I also put the scales on a hard surface (not carpet), move them a couple of feet and try again (just to check!) :rotfl:

DITCH the scales, there's nothing worse than weighing yourself every 5 minutes. Your body weight changes throughout the day therefore weigh yourself once a week at the same time of the day and that way you'll get a better reading. (hide them for thje rest of the week)

Quorn, I'm not keen but I think that's psychological because it looks like the real thing. My OH swears by it though.

Anthony, a rough way of working out the syns is 1 syn=20 calories
    I haven't got one!

p.s. baked beans are free on a green day and are classed as a speed food which will help to increase your weight loss

Thanks cheekymole! is it the low sugar, low fat baked beans that are the free ones? I cant understand this free food thing really as I seem to be eating more than I was before - the stuff I am eating now is what I used to eat anyway, i just wasn't careful about stuff like how many slices of toast I ate, or what jar of pasta cheese sauce I whacked on the dinner (and how many slices of garlic bread I would have with it!)

I agree with the idea of ditching the scales altho am not ready to ditch em just yet as they are a good motivator at the mo... I think perhaps I need to just hide them all week long so I am just getting a weekly reading of any loss....?? easier said than done tho ey! LOL!

Sob - only lost half a pound at ww last night. We had three meals out last week, and I was really good for two of them, but bad for the last one, so my own fault really. Just really annoying. Nevermind, am determined to make this a better week.
