    Hi all,

Week 2 on Body Optimise on Slimming World and I have put ON 1lb  . Really depressed about it, I had a bad day on Sunday at a Family party with a portion of cake, 2 sausages (on a red day, no bread, have been avoiding all but 2 slices of nimble) and about half a pack of crisps. Not an excessive amount, but that is all and then I have kept my sins to a minimum. I can't understand why as I am being so careful.

I spent the whole time before eating cakes, pastries, sweets, chocolate, biscuits, crisps and fast food although it was not all like this obviously, just when the kids had gone to bed and I sit at the PC working and snacking. I have been 10st 4lb since having an op around 5 years ago, my weight remained at this even after I had the 2 kids, I am 5' 1" so I know about a stone or so over weight at 10st, and I have no time for exercise - this being my main problem.

What has peed me off more than anything is that I spend 2 weeks eating food I can't stand that is lacking in taste and I am not really into eating fruit and veg and the like, pulses, lentils and rice we have never really eaten ever and I am finding it hard to adjust but I am sticking to it because I was hoping I would lose some weight, just a lb a week would do. I am really missing the food I am used to like salad cream, mayonnaise, ketchups, not to mention the sweet stuff and my daily cake but it is obvious that I need more exercise, it is just finding time to fit it in.

I work from home and have 2 kids under 3, I run a shop on the internet so have to post out during the day, evenings after the kids are in bed means paperwork, get stuff on the shop and emails which takes up most of the evening, I get to bed between midnight and 1am. Then it is up again for 7.00 with the kids. Looks like I'll be having to get up at 6am to get an hours exercise in else I am going to be stuck here until go knows when at the same weight. While I accept I am not hugely overweight I feel disgusting which is why I am making the most of trying to enjoy it and lose weight. I have this huge roll of fat hanging over my jeans and I refuse to buy more clothes, it is all on my tummy I guess. Everything else does not look so bad. I get about 2 hours walk in during the day about 3-4 times a week (fast walking) and that is still not enough

To cap my good day off. I went to the docs for a smear and the nurse commented that something did not look right. I have to wait 2 MONTHS and if I have heard nothing I have to call them back. Don't they rush things through when they don't look right? Why did she tell me and not keep it to herself as I am a bundle of nerves now and snapping at everyone around me and I have to wait for 2 months. I can't even have chocolate to make up for it.

anyway, I apologise for being a complete whinger, I had to sound off because I just feel like crying. Thanks for listening and sorry again.

Hey Blue Monkey have a hug I think you need one :)

You are having a bad day and everything looks bad...

The good thing about SW is that you can eat the food you want to you don't have to suffer just decide what you want to eat and plan around it. If you want a chocolate bar have one. And you may not be eating enough have your syns and your healthy extras, I always lose most weight when I eat loads.

You are a hard working mum with 2 little ones and a business, it's hard work looking after 2 lively toddlers are you getting enough sleep?

I agree it's worrying when things are amiss in the smear department, if it was serious they would have you in pretty quick, if in doubt go and see the doctor and ask for an explanation, you are entitled to know what is going on, it's your body after all.

And as for exercise, I have all the excuses work long hours, busy, tired etc you owe it to yourself to have some me time, have you got a partner to take the children off your hands for a time whilst you go to an aerobics class or whatever you enjoy exercise wise?

Hope you feel better keep posting and look after yourself.

Hi Blue Monkey, no wonder you're fed up. I agree it looks bad but I really do think you must have been going wrong somewhere to put weight on. I'm sure you think you've been 100% but it's almost impossible to gain weight if you're sticking to all the rules.
Are you sure you're having the right amount of HEs and are you weighing and measuring them?
I've found in the past, that new members often make the mistake of having 3 HEBs (forgetting that they've had one with their morning cereal for instance). I don't mean to question you, but it's surprising how often we self-sabotage!
If you don't like lentils etc, don't have them. There's no reason to eat anything which is tasteless either. Do you get the magazine? There are some fab recipes in there every time and they would give you an idea on how to put meals together. You MUST enjoy your meals or you won't stick to the plan.
Would you like to post a days menus for us to look at so that we could maybe advise?
Please don't give up - there's no other diet like food optimising for choice, variey and filling power - you just need to get some new ideas - and you've come to the right place for that. :T

Incidentally, while it is obviously better if you can exercise, it's not strictly necessary in order to lose weight. I have a member who uses crutches to get around and she is losing very well.
Good luck with your smear results - like nearlyrich, I would suggest you go back to the nurse and insist that they give you a clue what's happening. The stress causes more problems than enough and I'm sure you can do without it!

Thanks for the support everyone, you're wonderful.:A

I'm happy to report I had a better day today (and I even spent it with my mum!).:j

Breakfast was tea and toast - made for me by OH who was just in from night shift.

Lunch was a banana s'wich, probiotic yoghurt (for the IBS) and a ww chocolate whip bar (1 1/2 points)

Dinner was ready made lasagne, salad and oven chips (at my mum's house - all pointed and no bicci's ate afterwards!).:T

So far today I've had 21 &1/2 points - all accounted for. I'm just looking at what I've had to eat and realised that I'm really low on fruit and veg and I haven't been drinking a lot of water. I must try and rectify that tomorrow. I still have a few points left so I might fill out on fruit tonight if I get peckish. Yum! fruit salad!

On the other hand, I've been shopping the sales today looking for clothes for work (start back on Monday!) and I'm knackered. DS is cutting his top 2 teeth and I'm not getting a lot of sleep at the minute so I might just go to bed early and skip the snacks.

I have a christening to go to tomorrow, so I'll need to be good. Have a nice weekend everyone.

Woweee only missed two nights and there was so much to catch up on. Some fantastic weight losses going on :j

Suggs - 3lb lost fab - also congrats on your weight loss so far 3 stone 4 lb that is fantastic.
Debra's Angel - well done on your 1.5lbs
Cathys1 - also well done on your 1lb lost
Jenittels - Good luck for getting your 2 stone next week and congrats on the 2lb you lost this week.
Petal - hope you have enjoyed your birthday so far and well done on losing a 1lb
Mrs Yatesy - well 1/2lb on wasn't bad and now you have lost that and more - yeh well done.
Ems - congrats on the 3lbs lost you are doing so well.
Pug and Pugs dad - 4lb and 5lb you are both obviously motivating each other well - congrats.
Jenpoptab also congrats on your 1.5lb lost

In just two days that makes a total of 23lb - wow that is amazing :T

Moo and Celticfc welcome to the site. I am sure you will get a lot of motivation and support here.

nearlyrich - glad you had a nice holiday good luck with the diet and running. I think I read somewhere about slimming world having been prescribed by a GP for someone and I think it was in one of the mags last year but I may be imagining it

Blue Monkey - hugs you sound like you need them. It is so difficult to do an eating plan with little ones around and I know what you mean that you hardly feel like you have time to yourself but yoiu will get there even if its a bit slower than you would like and I am sure if you are following the SW diet then this is just a blip whilst you get into the plan.

Delly Belly - Glad to hear you have your motivation back and well done on resisting the biccies at your mums. I totally understand re mums and food - mine is a nightmare for sweet stuff but the last time I was home I realised that she was using me as an excuse to have it herself so I just said no - quite a revelation to me and I lost 3lb that fortnight when I stayed when normally I would have put on :rotfl:

Well I have had a good/bad day - good as far as meals go as I have stuck to my plan but bad as I did some baking for OH and DS and had to test a few bits so I was a bit naughtier than i should have been 'stand back from the cakes'. Anyway now they are all cut, packaged and frozen into packs for them so thats ok. I just love the smell of home baked cakes and they are just too much of a temptation - once they come out the freezer I can happily leave them alone lol why do we do this to ourselves.

Hope everyone has a good weekend

    Hi all

Here's the update for this week, with as many results as I can find. As usual, if there's anything you want to change, let me know by email, pm or on here.

It's not often I celebrate gaining a pound, but I was really pleased to have only put on one pound while I was on holiday - that's definitely a first for me, the scales usually groan when I step on them after a week away! :)

Thanks for the welcome back. I had a lovely time - the weather left a lot to be desired but the Irish scenery made up for that. I can recommend South West Ireland to anyone who loves mountains, lakes, beaches, good food, and great hospitality. The Guinness is good too!

We went there for the International HOG Rally - HOG stands for Harley Owners Group, nothing to do with pigs! My OH is the proud owner of a Harley Davidson, and he rode it all the way there, but I took the easy route and flew in (there's not much storage on his bike so someone had to carry the luggage!). I'm sure the residents of Killarney are glad of the peace and quiet now all the bikes are gone - apparently there were 10,000 Harleys there, and boy, do they make a noise!

Katyk - sorry to hear you'll be without a PC for a while, but hopefully we'll see you on here again very soon.

Welcome to all the new faces - if any of you would like to join in the 2 pound weight loss club, just let me know. The idea of it is to set a short term target that can be reached by losing 2 pounds each week, as it's sometimes easier to break your goal down into 'bite size chunks' rather than being demotivated by the total amount you want to lose. I find a good target is a special occasion, or a holiday - the usual things that we know we'll feel better about if we're carrying a few less pounds.

    Have a good week!

Hi Nutty 2 - welcome to the club! :) The original post about the 2 pound weight loss club is here.

The basics are that members have a regular day to weigh in, and post their weight loss (or gain) on here. I update the list and post it every Monday.

People here are following lots of different eating plans - Slimming World, Weightwatchers, Rosemary Conley, some are trying to lose weight by eating healthily and taking more exercise, some attend classes and have official weigh ins, others weigh themselves at home.

If you don't attend a class you might find trying to go it alone is difficult, but you'll get great motivation from everyone that posts on here, I find it very supportive.

Good luck with your weight loss.
