Well done Ems, that is a great result, I'm going a away to stay with family in a few weeks so will also be thinking about how to keep on the straight and narrow.

Myself and Pug Snr had our weigh ins today, I lost 4lb and dad lost 5lb. Both very pleased, me esp. as I was worried that my week of water retention that I always get would have messed me up. I 've lost half a stone now, hurrah!

Keep it up everyone, I find it very encouraging reading how everyone is getting on :)

Thanks for all your kind words about my lb!

Dellybelly - I saw that programme - I sky+ it, as I was out the night it was on, and watched it last night - a bit tongue in cheek I have to admit. She couldn't have been that shy if she was that transformed in only 4 weeks. However - the guy gave sensible advice about finding clothes to suit your body shape. I've laughed many a time that I should be Trinny and susanahed.:rotfl: Don't think I could take their shame. He was much kinder.

You have me wrong about my sw c being wooden - not at all. I don't like staying to her classes, as she spends time talking to her "favourites" and most of us ordinary folk get to say one line if we're lucky. I've been before, and never stayed (But that was ok - I was single and working like a maniac, and meeting lots of fellas as the weight dropped off, so the weight kept falling off!!! - I called that my "tart" year!:o. To be honest - it is difficult to stay at the moment, so may need to change days or class times. I know with me that if I go to the later late class, I wont eat my dinner first and then will eat a naughty dinner. But just going to the late class my 3yr old dd has to come, and she gets easily bored! If it was half an hour later, dh would be home, and perhaps I would stay half an hour so not to late for a good dinner?!

Any how I've droned on long enough - a huge pile of post holiday ironing is calling out to me!!!

    Evenin' all :)

Well done Ems! and the Pugs - what great losses :)

Welcome to the club Moo - I'll add you to the results sheet for next week.

Interesting to read what you were saying about your SW consultant Cathy - when I attended a SW group, my slimming buddy and I ended up having the biggest weight losses in the group - my friend lost 8 stone and I lost 6.5. Our SW consultant used to use us as shining examples to the rest of the class, but we always felt that we had to be really positive in response, and I got to the stage where I was finding it hard to lose weight every week, and sometimes I wanted to be honest about that, and needed some advice and moral support. I'm sure some of the other members resented us being her 'golden girls' too. She was an excellent consultant, very motivating and supportive, apart from that.

I find this thread really motivating, along with the thought of the weekly weigh in at RC, which really focusses the mind, so thanks everyone! :T

Ooh - news headlines are on and there's something about a miracle drug to help with obesity... I wonder what the downside is going to be, there's usually something.

Thought for the day coming up...

thanks guys you, veall been really welcoming. i've been cooking up batches of meals that are point free or really low points, so that when my motivation drops i'll be able to grab a 'ready meal' out of the freezer. i'm on no count and finding it quite easy at the moment.

does anyone know what weight loss drug they give you on the boots plan?

The link below is to a page with some information about the miracle obesity drug mentioned on the news. It acts as an appetite suppressant and appears to be particularly good for people with additional weight around the abdomen, and for people with type 2 diabetes. The drawbacks are that it won't be available for a couple of years, as it hasn't been licensed by the BMA yet, and it seems that people who have tested it quickly regained their lost weight when they stopped taking it.

I'm back from a week in Greece, had a great time but I fear I have done a bit of damage with the food and the wine and the beer, not to mention the olives etc:o

I have been to the supermarket tonight and stocked up on healthy fresh food, tea tonight was BBQ, got some fresh herrings which went on the grill with dill and lemon...I had salad, a vegetable kebab and one small boiled potato. Earlier I had a tub of cottage cheese and some Ryvita's along with some fruit.

Planning to join the local harriers next week, I used to love running when I was younger and they have started a beginners group for not so fit people (me to a tee) and will do some walking this weekend.

So wish me luck and can I join the 2lb club please? I need to lose about 2 stones now and at 2lb per week it would get me to my target at the one year mark;)

    Hi everyone,

Just checking in before I go to bed. I'm having a really demotivated day today. I shouldn't really, I treated myself to a haircut and managed to find some clothes that don't make me look like Jabba the Hut, but I'm panicking about my weigh in even though it's not till monday. I've maintained for the past 3 weeks and I'm desperate to get some weight off but I always seem to sabotage myself. My mum was looking after DS while I was at the hairdressers and offered me tea and some biccis. :naughty: I was very good by taking note of the cal/fat content so that I could point them when I got home... 2 &1/2 points EACH!!!! . Having said that, they were gorgeous... peanut and chocolate. (something like the old nutty bars - remember them anyone over 30?). So the usual happened, I got fed up and depressed and started feeding myself.

I always do really well when I'm at home but can never refuse anything my mum offers me. I've known for a long time that my mum associates food with love (one of the reasons why I'm so overweight - but it's not her fault, she didn't stuff it into my mouth!)

RIGHT!, that's it, moaning over. I'm off to bed now and tomorrow will be better than today.:A AND I'm going to ask my mum not to offer me bicci's anymore when I'm at her house as I can't refuse them.

Sorry, I'm so rude.... well done to all the losers. Welcome back nearlyrich. I'm sure you'll be fine.... and Happy Birthday for tomorrow Petal. Enjoy your day!
Goal for 09: Get fit and foxy. target weight 11st. 5/80.
Get out of dead end job and work for career I always wanted.
