Well after a bad few weeks and not being to class for the past 2 weeks I finally plucked up the courage to go back. In a way I wish I hadnt but mainly I am glad I did - if ever there was a better way to get a kick up the backside putting on 3.5lb was it  This I think is partly down to time of month but the rest is down to me being a total starvo over the past couple of weeks. I am so mad with myself. I had lost a stone, was comfortable but wanted to lose a bit more. I have now put 5lb of that stone back on

I'm sooooooo cross. Well, honey28 is back and she is going to lose that 5lb, and some!!!!

    Way to go Honey:j

Would someone mind telling me the syn value for Tesco Black Bean Sauce (540g jar), if it can be found?

Having just moved into the boyf's flat we've accumalated a massive collection of food in the kitchen cupboards that we're trying to use up without me putting on 10lbs.

There may be more posts like this as i continue to find random jars and cans that he's owned since he was single :D

    Cheers all.

Jeni - I had a look for the syns for you. The best I could find was " Tesco Stir Fry Suace, Black Bean 440g" - 21.5 syns   or "Tesco Finest 350g jar" which is 14.5 syns  Whatever it is, I'd leave it in the cupboard!!!! :rotfl:

I'm on WW, and my second weigh in will be on Thursday morn. I've been religiously counting the points, weighing stuff and keepnig a record (using the online tracker as well as my bits of paper). This might sound weird but I feel like I've been eating too much, been counting adn recounting just now as I've just finished a massive tea of beef bolognaise but with pancakes not pasta. Gone over it and over it and I really feel I've missed something, even though I broke the recipe right down and the only thing I needed to count was the beef. I guess Thursday will tell me.

Also, its that time of the month aswell, normally I would be scoffing all kinds of chocolate but I've felt ok, although my tooth is a little sweeter than other weeks. had a few squares and thats it. I always suffer from water retention at this time, and I'm wondering if this is going to affect me much?

Do others find they lose less/put more o/lose none at this time?

god if i don't i'll die - i go with my dad and he'll want to know why when we've been sticking to it so well lol!

    Hi Guys

I have been quite a few points under this week, just because of a hectic schedule. Should I abe aiming to use all my WW points that I haven't used or will that help my weight loss this week, if i just forget about them?

    Jen,

I think it'll be ok for one week as long as you don't make a habit of not using all your points. Try to make sure that you eat all of your points as much as possible every day and only save points for when you have a special occasion coming up later that week. What I'm trying to say is, if you're allowed 22 points and you're only eating 18, what are you going to do when your allowance is reduced to 18 points to get your weight off?

If you're having difficulties eating all of your points, try making your lunch a bit more substantial, especially if you're trying to use your points every evening and find yourself eating rubbish because it uses them up.

    Pug,

don't worry about seeming like your eating too much. You're probably filling up on vegetables and you're less hungry. As for it being the time of the month, cross that bridge when you come to it. Last time I was following RC and used to put on 5lbs every month... but always lost it the following week (and was SOTW) and then some. This time, I've managed to maintain (thank goodness!)

Good luck at the weigh in.

Yeah I agree swimming is a great form of exercise but she has told me not to do it unless I keep my head in the water while swimming because my posture will be all out if I keep it lifted out of the water and that will agrivate my back - I have 2 prolapsed discs, thanks to 2 pregnancies  I can't swim with my face in the water!! She also told me to walk up and down the water or do sideways steps - won't I look like a right twit doing that!!!

Hi Honey - I'm just catching up on the posts I've missed while I was away, so if someone has already responded, just ignore me!

If you wanted to try swimming to exercise, it's easier to swim with your face in the water if you wear a noseclip and goggles - doesn't look that attractive, but it works! You can sometimes buy swimming accessories at the pool, or you could try a sports shop.

Giving out all of this advice on weight watchers when I've maintained this week for the second week running?

In my defence, I was having a 100% week up until Friday when OH, DS, Four paws and I travelled to Dublin for the weekend. I didn't count my points (despite all of my assurances I would) but I did eat really healthily ( I know, It was a shock even for me!). What was different was that I had a bottle of wine:beer: this weekend. Only the one, and spread out over the two nights we were staying over. Oh, and of course, the person we were staying with made the most gorgeous dessert with meringue nests, marscapone cheese, whipped cream and fresh fruit (yum). I didn't skimp on desserts, that's for sure! (or peanuts, now that I think of it ...and I rarely have them in the house!)

We stopped at the fruit stalls on Henry street on Saturday and I've now got loads of cheap fruit for my 100% week this week! (Imagine, 12 banana's for E2,? Bargain!) I've only got one week left with DS before I go back to work and I want to make the most of it so I'll probably be at home a lot this week and will have a lot more control over what I'm eating.

Here's to a good week everyone!

    Hi guys

well fairly succesfully negotiated the weekend without too many problems on the diet front (I hope) but tomorrow will tell. I have been really good at sticking to the plan this week and if I dont loose 2lb plus I will be most dis-chuffed lol

Catching up on the posts - hello to Julie-d, charley farley, frosty and Peries (hope I got them right as I can't read my handwriting :rotfl: )

Suggs  the gym is that way. I think the amount of exercise you do is great but unfortunately I am allergic to the gym and therefore can't advise re your CV question

Madauri - doesn't sound like you have been too bad, after all you made a conscious decision last night to have your leftover green dinner ??? lol and didn't have the toast. Plus today from what I can gather you also consciously chose to eat mostly free fruit and didn't just eat the sarnies. Would you have done that pre SW??? Give yourself a pat on the back for making good decisons :T .

Honey28 - sorry to hear about the gain but it sounds like you found your motivation again so it must be a good thing and good luck with your 5lbs.

Pug in a bed - can't advise re WW as I do SW but I do know when its that time of the month I regularly put on a pound no matter how good (or bad :o) I have been that week.

Jenpoptab - Sorry can't advise re WW but thought Dellybelly was spot on with her advice as if you do stint on your points now what do you do when they are reduced - might be worth chatting to your WW adviser.

Hope the rest of you have good days and weigh ins

Phew! Wading through all those posts felt like a marathon but it was certainly uplifting and good motivation to get back on track!

Well done to everyone who's lost weight this week, and well done Honey for getting back your resolve. It's good that you've done it, because I know to my cost that the longer you leave it, the harder it is to go back.

Well, the holiday is over and I don't know what the damage is yet - hopefully not too bad, although I wasn't quite as angelic as I intended to be. The food was really good, and I succumbed to a couple of puddings, but I was very strict about not drinking too much alcohol. OH got into the habit of going to the bar and asking for a pint of guinness for himself and a pint of tap water for me!

My next RC weigh in isn't until Saturday, and if I continue with the kick start plan, I may be able to undo any damage done on holiday and possibly lose a pound (or two!).

I need to set myself a new target now, but haven't got anything specific to lose weight for (time to book another holiday!), so as it's my birthday in 11 weeks, I'm going to aim to lose one and a half stone by then.

OH has agreed that the next holiday we have is going to be somewhere warm so I can motivate myself with the thought of sunbathing - will it be the figure control one-piece, or something more revealing?!

I haven't got my head round weight losses for the weekly update yet, so I'll post the latest results in the next few days.

Keep up the good work everybody! :T

Hi I have been reading about raw food, and how this can help in weight loss and general health. Is anyone a convert to this way of eating, if so could you give me any advice as to where I can find information and recipes?
    Thanks

Hi Pernes - this sounds like something I heard of a while ago, called the stone age diet, so called because it involves eating foods that haven't been processed in any way. I used to work with some people who followed it and lost lots of weight. It's probably just another fad that works while you're following it but doesn't really educate you to eat healthily in the long term.

From what I remember of it, you could eat meat but not sausages, burgers, bacon, or ham, and you could eat grains, fruit and veg, as long as they weren't cooked. Presumably, the meat was cooked - they had discovered fire by the stone age hadn't they?

Can't help with any information or recipes, but you could try googling stone age diet and see what you find.

Let us know how you get on.

    Hi folks

Likely to be my last check in for a week or three as I only have this computer 'on loan' from my DS's swimteam of which I was secretary. DS has now forsaken swimming in favour of cricket so I have resigned as secretary and have to give them back their laptop!

It would be nice to go out on a high note but I am afraid I cannot - thinking of a family BBQ later in the summer, someone at work suggested Banoffie Pie. I therefore had to make one  and was obliged to make a second whilst I was at it to take to work:whistle: . Needless to say I had to show faith in my own culinary skills and taste both pies just to show everyone they would not be poisoned;) . About 3 portions later (1 at work, 2 at home) and I paid the cost!

Result - gained 2lb this week!

Now feeling really ashamed and wishing to kick myself so am having a very good day today and trying to get back on track.

Will be buying MIL's old computer off her in about a week or so so hopefully should not be too long before I come back. Dread to think how much reading I will have to do on this thread though.....

Good luck everybody - keep up the good work!!:D
