hi
im not sure that this is the right place to post so im sorry if im wrong!!
i joined my local rosemary conley class 4 weeks agao and ive found it better than any other slimming class i ever been to as you have the option of staying after you have been weighed to do an areobics class.
my first week on the gi jeans diet i lost 5lb and got the slimmer of the week certificate the next week i lost 2lbs and now on my 4/5 week i have lost a stone.
its so easy to stick to as well the first 2 weeks are restrictive in your not allowed to have any booze but i dont drink much anyway!!
im going to start to go to more excercise classes a week and hopefully i keep losing!!!
thanks for reading and sorry if i got the wrong board. Thanks every1 for making this website what it is, its helped me alot in the past!0 -
There is a new book in the pack now, it states that when used as a flour substitute cous cous is synned. On a green 28g used as flour is 5 syns. 4 oz is quite a bit more. I am gutted with my wasted week, but I have bought the new pack to avoid more slip-ups.

Thanks for that Fox - I usually make a couscous cake at least once a week - I'll have to find something with less syns from now on... I'm just about to post a recipe for Raspberry chiffon on the recipes thread, which is syn free to the best of my knowledge, although as it's been in my SW file for several years, I could be wrong!!
Give it a try, it's quite easy to make, and very moreish.

Hi Good Boy - yes you've come to the right place, welcome!
Well done on your weight loss with Rosemary Conley. I've been doing her GI diet too, but haven't had as much success as you, however I haven't been attending classes. I made the decision this week to increase the amount of exercise I do, and one of the ways I'm planning to do that is by attending the class. Hopefully, the thought of facing an official weigh in every week and the aerobics, will have the effect I'm after.
Keep us informed of your progress, and feel free to ask any questions - there's usually someone who can help.
Good luck with this week's weight loss.

Just back from my SW class and this week I lost 1 1/2 lbs. Total weight loss 5 1/2 lbs in 2 weeks
I really struggled to keep focused and positive over the weekend and had a biggish piece of victoria sandwich birthday cake with fresh cream! I counted 20 sins for it.
I'm back on track now and raring to go for next week!
Hope everyone loses a little (or a lot) this week!
Must learn not to count chickens before they are hatched!!!!:D
Every day is a new challenge not a new problem!:p
SW start 08/01/14 4/21lbs (1st target) :j0 -
Me again - just to say that the spreadsheet appears to be the correct one again. Strangely, I deleted the original, but the one that was quoted by katyk somehow updated itself before I'd uploaded the correct one!

p.s. well done for your weight loss, Tryingtobegood - I'll add it to the spreadsheet for next week's update, if that's ok with you.Start BMI - 38.7 Current BMI - 31.2 Target BMI - 26.30 -
I posted earlier about my typical daily dietary plan, but I'm concerned that I'm not getting enough calories. I've read something about the body going in to 'starvation mode' should you not fulfill the minimum quota per day, therefore the body clings on to the fat.
Although I've not had any problems losing weight so far, I just don't want to come to a standstill point, or a 'plateau' (sp?)
Breakfast (about 7:30) - A bowl of cereal (one in high fibre) such as Bran Flakes or All Bran, with a glass of Orange Juice
300 cals?
Break (About 11) - Some fruit - typically one banana, or one apple, or some grapes.
100 cals?
Lunch (about 1:30) - A Ham, Chicken on Turkey Sandwich (Low fat options, such as Bernard Matthews) with plenty of salad (Sweet lettuce, carrots, cucumbers etc) with some onion relish for additional taste - with granary bread. The sandwich is packed full of salad to ensure It fills me up, without the bloating.
250 cals?
Break (About 4:00) - Some more fruit - Again, one banana, apple or some grapes.
100 cals?
Dinner (about 6:30) - Plenty of salad/vegetables, with either a jacket potato/wholemeal pasta and some Bernard Matthews Ham, Turkey or chicken, with a little bit of low fat coleslaw.
500 cals?
So from that, I'm estimating that I'm roughly consuming 1300 calories a day, which I'm led to believe isn't enough. If it isn't enough, what more should I do to add calories, without adding perhaps too many cabohydrates, sugar and fat to the eating plan?0 -
Everything which is used as flour is now synned, that includes polenta, ground rice, buckwheat etc. You mustn't bake it, unless you count it. I think my slice of cake last night was around 10 syns.Space for rent, apply within - Free trial on Thanks button though0

Connected: how many calories you're allowed depends on many factors about yourself including your current weight, height gender etc. Unfortunately i don't know of any sources that will tell you how many you should be having but there may be info available on the net or in calorie counting books. Might be worth talking to a nurse/doctor about it (though i'm not sure that even they'd know). Good luck.
Well done tryingtobegood!
Good boy - congrats on your weight loss so far. I too am a RC class fan (though i don't like the restrictive diet so I do a different diet) - glad it's going so well!0
