Hi i would like to join this group! I really need to lose sooo much weight. I have really bad confidence and my "fatness" is really getting me down, especially when all my friends are skinny little rakes and complain about how fat they are. I dont have the confidence to join one fo these weight watchers/slimming world places, are their any free places online to find out about these? Thank youMember of the 20p Savers Club: £2.60 saved since 24/04/06

Go out, walking fast enough to get yourself breathless (not gasping!) for 15 mins a day for 5 days a week to start. Work up to 30 mins a day for 6 days a week. While the weather is nice (huh!) it's easy and fun with a little one to show birds and flowers to. :jSignature removed for peace of mind0

Has anyone used Reductil a slimming tablet available from GP that suppresses appetite. I know someone who has just been prescribed some and I wondered if any one has already tried them. I think she was also offered another type of slimming aid that gave you the runs if you ate anything with fat in it.
I wonder if you have to be a certain weight to be prescribed them.0 -

My eldest daughter got these from her GP. She was first told to go away and lose half a stone then she could have them (which I thought odd, since if you could lose weight on your own you don't really need these things)
Anyway, she eventually got them and took them for about 3 weeks. It didn't make a jot of difference to her weight, but they made her feel peculiar. She also got the 'trots' with even the smallest amount of fat intake - which can't be good since you are supposed to need SOME fat in your diet.
In the end, she didn't go for her repeat prescription and has rejoined SW and is doing it the 'proper' way, by taking control and eating a healthy, balanced diet.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Sorry Katyk - something strange has happened to the table, for some reason it has resorted to a previous version. I'll get it sorted out as soon as I can.

40 syns???!!!
Did they explain how it could be so high? I know there was a message earlier in the thread to say that some foods were higher in syns when served in different ways, but from syn free to 40 syns is quite a leap...
